I bought this cable but it will not work with Juniper switches. Any idea why?

Hello - is the RJ45 end the same as an ethernet cable?

The standard UTP (unshielded twisted pair) Ethernet cable uses an RJ45 connector at both ends. While this cable does have an RJ45 connector on one end it is a RS232 serial communication cable not an Ethernet cable. It will not work if you connect it to an Ethernet interface on another device such as a switch or router.

It does not. As it is not an RJ11(phone plug) it is an Ethernet plug(rj-45)
