Tracer
Many decades ago in the 60's and early 70's I used one of these tracers and they used a simple bulb and worked great. After many years it stopped working and never saw another one like it until now . It is designed a little different but works identical as they use to They recommend a specific bulb and when using that bulb this tracer works flawlessly and is very bright and clear . I have a larger projector but using it can be difficult because it is large This Tracer is easy to use and can be used just about anywhere . If it lasts as long as the old one I had decades ago, it is worth every penny If I remember correct the one years ago was bought for about $10 dollars and that seemed like a lot back then compared to todays prices Recommend this tracing projector for any artist and for any craft work

Very NICE!
I bought this for my daughter to enlarge her drawings (it was on her wish list). I actually had her help me to use it first (shame on me)! It worked very well for a poster I was making. Love it and happy we purchased it! Disadvantages... Make sure to secure the medium you are transferring to otherwise the image gets distorted. The view box is roughly 4"x6" (estimating from memory) and if you are going from a larger image, you will have to move it-so you have to be careful to avoid distorting the final image. The enlarger can get hot. Finally, when transferring the image, your hand can shadow where you need to trace. Overall, it does the job pretty easy!

Very Nice!
I have been wanting to do some wall murals and finally bought this guy. It works very well for tracing onto other surfaces i.e. a wall. Your photo or drawing must be 4x4 to project the entire design but I found that I can just scan my design, download and change the size in printer settings, and print out a 4x4 copy of the design or pboto..Voila! It will project color however I wanted to see clearly what I was doing so mine is in black and white. For those still trying to find an overhead projector that doesn't smoke or have electrical issues, get this!! So easy to use once you figure out how you resize your original. DEFINITELY recommend!! The photo is of the actual projection of a design I'm currently now about to paint. One suggestion make sure you do not move the projector once you've got your design in place, if you walk away and it's moved, it can be difficult to re-align a detailed design lol. I spent several SEVERAL minutes getting it in just the right spot to finish tracing after I had walked away for a day and came back to find it wasn't lined up and off by just a hair which can be very frustrating. All in all this works perfectly for projecting!! Dark room for sure needed. Great buy and price.

Biggest drawback, you have to work in the dark!
If you're serious about tracing or copying images, I'd recommend upgrading to an HD LED Portable Projector. They cost more, but they are much better in working with images, plus you can use a Roku stick and watch movies. The most significant issue with this little guy is that you have to work in near, total darkness for the best results (or even practical results). Even a little ambient light renders the image difficult to see, trace, copy, or realign. It's hard to work in the dark and sometimes not possible. I don't think I appreciated how difficult it was until I tried it. I borrowed a friends HD projector (the portable kind you might use in a business meeting) and found not only could I work in well-lit rooms, the resolution, colors, and sharpness of lines was a substantial upgrade. My photos will help with the comparison, but to see it in person doubles the contrast you see in these pictures. There are other advantages for using a computer image rather than a printed image such as changing the size of the image, increasing the resolution, speed (change images quickly without having to print), brightness, contrast, just to name a few. The Artograph is not a bad machine, but at ~$40 (time of review), invest another $80 and find an HD LED Portable Projector. I hope it helps you decide what's best for your tracing projects!

Don't waste your money!
I bought this EZ tracing projector to help me enlarge a few of my art projects. The bulb that they recommended for their product was extra....and very expensive ($34.99). Upon my 1st try after my surgery I was NOT impressed with it. The bulb ran EXTREMELY HOT. IF I touched the projector it would burn me. It was so hot that it started melting the bottom of the projector , the inner hardware and the reflective mirror fell out because the plastic slotted holders completely melted . The intense heat happened even IF i had the projector on for ONLY a few minutes ( I'd turn it off and wait until it cooled to try to finish my picture. I had a copy of one my photos printed out for this project and this projector/ EZ tracer projector would not let me zoom in, adjust for detail, enlarge like they advertised in their description that said enlarges 4xto 10x. The mechanism to zoom in / out is COMPLETELY USELESS ! I could NOT bring anything into focus ....anything projected on the wall WAS ALL BLURRY! I'm not sure IF it was the high heat but the projector would constantly slide off of my photo. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS EXTREMELY UNSAFE, USELESS "TRACING" PROJECTOR.! After numerous attempts to get a refund or try a replacement from the company they refused to accommodate me. Terrible customer service especially since they recommended the purchase of a 250 watt bulb that was way to hot for their plastic, defective, and extreme highly hazardous product! After all this I'm being generous giving them 1 star for my review. IF I would of used this projector right after I made my purchase I would of returned it asap because it's a piece of junk!

Projector
Great little projector works better than my big one. Love it . Picture quality was great and shows up in color too. So easy to use and well worth the money. I like making plywood characters for our driveway and they all came out fantastic with this little viewer.

Good for small projects
I would recommend this projector for smaller images on a wall. I bought it with hopes that it would speed up a mural process slightly. The image needed to fit a 17l x 11h ft. wall. My space was limited and I wasn't able to move the projector back far enough to get the image to fit properly. I moved about 10ft back and it still would only cover half of an 11ft wall. Image was pretty clear. This is best for smaller projects. Unfortunately I was not able to use it for what I needed. Make sure your room is dark and lines are crisp (if hand drawn) for the best image. If you return they charge 9$ out of the refund.
