Perfect for my footrest/drink holder and dvd storage box! - After reading some reviews that these hinges were not perfectly straight, I was a little bit skeptical but other reviews with pictures convinced me that I needed them. Installing them was a bit of a pain of trial and error but after a while I got it figured out. How i did it: held closed hinge on the left interior side of box, top bracket piece flush with the top of my box and up against the back side. Marked and drilled pilot holes and then secured it in place with #8 1/2" wood screws. (Repeated procedure for other hinge) With both hinges now secured to the box sides, i then placed my upholstered mdf wood lid on the top of the raised hinge brackets. While laying on my back, I used two strips of 2" thick exterior masking tape that i cut to run the length of the hinges. I applied half to the hinge and half the lid board. I was then able to press the lid down and close it. When in the closed position, the lid wasn't completely square with my box so I repeated this procedure until I got it right. While on my back i was then able to hold the lid and secure it in place with 3 screws per side.
