No maintenance, replacing the brushes. **Q: If your left handed can you use this saw?, does Dewalt make one you can use if you are left handed?** A: You can still use this if your left handed, this is a “blade left” saw being that the blade is on the left side of the motor. If your looking for a “blade right” saw check out the dcs573. Dewalt dosent make a blade right 6 1/2 inch circular saw that I know of. Hope this helps **Q: Does it cut trex/composite deck boards?** A: I have cut a lot of things with my saw, but not deck boards. However, my experience with composite lumber is that it is soft and easily cut. Also, given the correct blade, the saw should be able to cut pretty much anything. **Q: Why wont my saw spin, all i hear is a click even with compatible battery (20 v).is there a saftey feature that im not aware of?** A: There is a trigger to press when starting to cut with the saw. Pretty good power behind it to but so far I've only used it to cut through 2x4s and 2x6s but didn't deal with any binding. Solid battery life though even when on a 4ah battery which helps with keeping it light.
