Works great, good price for a good tool.

Lighter and more quite than other models with great ergonomics. Very easy to put it on the mark and make square cuts. Blade change is a breeze. Great unit.

Lightweight and easy to use. Pretty good power behind it to but so far I've only used it to cut through 2x4s and 2x6s but didn't deal with any binding. Solid battery life though even when on a 4ah battery which helps with keeping it light. Overall got it on sale so it was definitely a good value for what I got it for.

I happened to already have battery packs and needed a circular saw, so I went with Dewalt. As expected, the saw is built with incredible quality, and I was able to construct two shed doors on a single charge without issue. Incredibly convenient being able to work cordless and have the power that comes with Dewalt.

GREAT SAW!

The DeWalt DCS565B is a great 6-1/2" circular saw. Excellent features, size, power, and weight. The primary complaint I have, which is not an insignificant one, is what I had to do in order to calibrate the saw so that it cuts square (i.e., 90-degrees). While this saw does have an adjustable set screw that allows you to calibrate the shoe for a perfect 90-degree cut, my saw could not achieve a perfect 90-degrees and was off by about 1/32". The shoe set screw needed to be backed out all the way, or so I thought. I backed the set screw out all the way thinking it would provide the range of adjustment I needed for the shoe to achieve 90-degrees, but it didn't work. I soon realized that the set screw was not the limiting factor, and instead one of the ribs on the topside of the shoe was contacting the underside of the motor housing. So there was no way I could get the shoe to a perfect 90-degrees without filing down the rib that was making contact with the motor housing. It's not the end of the world, but it does reflect poorly on DeWalt's quality control. Another criticism is that I wish the dust extractor attachment was not proprietary for DeWalt vacuums only. That's a jerk move, IMO. I knew this was the case before buying the saw, so it's not a surprise, just a critique. But make no mistake, once you get this saw all dialed in, it's fantastic.

I was hesitant to buy this, but for me the price point is much better than that of the 7.25 inch saw. The saw is light weight, has electronic braking and powerful enough not to notice any lack of performance with its use. I don't see an urgent need for an extra 3/8 of cutting capacity at 90°.

Gets the job done

I received the DCS565B (tool-only option) saw in an unmarked brown box. Along with the saw, I found the dust chute attachment, and the wrench snugly sitting in the holder on the right side of the saw's handle. Additionally, there were the usual paperwork and documents (manuals and notice sheets) However, I initially thought the T18 rippling blade was missing. The unmarked brown packaging made me doubtful about the saw's authenticity. Two days later, I carefully checked the packaging again and found the Dewalt 6-1/2" T18 ripping saw blade press-packed in a brown cardboard sheet, which had initially seemed like scrap cardboard. The 6-1/2" saw is just the right size and weight for me, and with all items accounted for, I am very pleased with the purchase.

This review is for DCS565 6.5 inch circular saw. Its my 5th tool in their 20 V Max cordless line. Very robust tool. Hard to kill. Well balanced and sits well in my hand. I am a righty, so I preferred this model so I can see the cutting line. As compared to the 7 inch version, on which I wouldn't be able to see it. The only annoyance was the blade guard before I removed it. The design of the guard is not smooth, and the threshold at which depth of cut its supposed to release, doesn't work well at smaller depths. I had to ruin a few cuts trying to adjust the depth lever, before I decided to remove the guard altogether. With guard removed, there are no hiccups in how the tool follows your hand, everything works fine now. I highly recommend it.

Very weak. So weak in fact that when I tried to cut timber the blade would come to a halt but the motor continued to spin. I was only 2cm into the cut before it stopped. Unless it can be fixed by Dewalt I won't be changing my rating.
