Brand Story By Neutrogena Review: WORKS!! - Ok so this smells so freaking awful. But like it works!!! I noticed a dramatic decrease in the flakes in my hair after the first use. The large flakes we mostly gone and there were a few small ones left. After my second use about 2 days later, there were the occasional small flakes left. But like so little that no one would notice it unless they were trying really hard. And I have black hair! I also noticed how soft my hair was after my first use. In addition, by my second use, I realized that I hadn’t lost as much hair as I usually do (in the shower and out). The first time I left it in my hair for about 5 min. The second time I left it in about 10 min. After rinsing it out, I followed the advice of another reviewer and used a different shampoo and then a conditioner (Renpure coconut fragrance) to try to drown out the smell. With the conditioner I left it in for at least 5 min and it helps. I think I can still smell it slightly, but it’s not as over powering without the extra steps. After a several more uses, I think I’ll be able to switch to the regular strength one for once a week. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve never seen a shampoo product come with a seal, store or online. **Q: Someone said the Original formula doesn't work to relieve bumps on head, but how about this extra strength one?** A: It truly depends on what condition your scalp is in. I get bumps and they itch to become scaley. I found that the original with both shampoo and conditioner combined worked much quicker and relieved the itch. Patches of hair that I lost are growing back. Even with an expensive conditioner, this was rough on what hair I had. Thank you.** A: Just use it on your scalp and rinse the rest, then use a good conditioner for hydration in all your hair. I have dry curly hair and that's what I do and it works very well for me. Also you can do a deep conditioner once a week a leave it for a few minutes. **Q: Can i use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner after?** A: I would use a moisturizing conditioner right after shampooing but I would not re-shampoo with another product immediately after shampooing with this product. No. Note to 'Karens': Chill out. *by B***S on November 24, 2021* Yes, it stinks. Like crazy. It's got coal tar in it, what did you expect? It's a medication, not a spa day! I use it, leave it on a while, then rinse and do a light shampoo with a regular, nicely scented product. removes the stink from hair. Karen, chill out! OMG causes cancer!! Well, OMG, not really. Yeah, coal tar is kind of a nasty thing, but there's a reason it's used for assorted odd maladies - it works. Nobody knows why. And frankly, it's hard to find any product that doesn't "cause cancer" if you soak in it 24 hours a day, make cocktails out of it, breath in the smell like sniffing roses all day, and in general just freak out about assorted lab animal tests that have no bearing on humans. Karen, chill out! I live in California - practically everything is labeled as 'may cause cancer'. Brocolli contains known cancer-causing chemicals. And I'll continue to eat it and other cruciferous vegetables as long as I live, as the actual stuff - Brocolli, not some distilled, high concentration single chemical found in it - is GOOD for you, and has ANTI cancer characteristics, and in general is just a most excellent thing to consume. Don't buy the bottle, take a few swigs from it and pour it all over your body and leave it there for days, declare that it tastes and smells bad and now you have cancer.
