Revolutionary pop-up technology books are cool!!!
When I got this pop-up book online along with PREDATERS I thought I would give both books 4 stars but after I looked at both books again recently I will now give them 5!! WILD OCEANS is truly marvelous! Each pop-up scene has special 3D creatures, often suspended above a pop-up underwater scene and swinging back and forth and bobbing up and down to give the effect of swimming underwater! A crab bobs up and down in an underwater coral scene on the first pages! On THE OPEN SEA pages a Blue whale's tail rises above the waves when you open these pages! And 2 playful dolphins jumped out of the pop-up waves! The next pages titled MONSTERS OF MIDNIGHT is painted in dark colours to represent the deepest depths of the sea and a pop-up Anglerfish with his own fishing lure in front of his mouth swims face first toward the reader! THE CORAL KINGDOM pages has a tropical looking coral scene with a open mouth 3D pop-up shark suspended from the pop-up coral while a smaller green sea turtle appears to swim underneath the coral and when you wiggle the pages both the swimming turtle and the coral fish above him appear to be swimming in the pop-up space!!And finally a pop-up leopard seal appears to escape the jaws of a menacing Orca whale while a bobbing penquin swims toward the reader in the 3D manner of the other suspended creatures in this full colour watercolour detailed book! Lucio and Meera Santoro have managed to come up with their own special style of nature pop-up books with "Revolutionary technology" as they call it! And special pull tabs ad corner pop-ups reveal more info and pop-up under sea creatures Highly recommended!

Basically a Work of Art
Apparently pop-up books have come a long long way since I was a kid. This book is amazing and basically a work of art. The details of the pop-ups are breathtaking, and the book itself has impressed every person who has seen it. Every page is a new theme: from tides to the dark depths of the ocean. The book is also educational and informative with facts and information on each page. I have apparently entered a new generation of pop-up books. If only I could make every book a pop-up book like this, everything would be so much better.

Amazing book!
This is the coolest pop-up book I've ever seen! We got it for a 4 year old birthday and it's a bit advanced. The pop-ups are fragile so it can't take a lot of beating up and the text is very interesting but better suited toward a bit older kids with longer attention spans. I think I enjoy the book more than him! He still loves opening the pages and looking at the amazing pop-ups, which definitely have the desired awe-inspiring effect. Definitely recommend, but this may be one you want to keep away from the kids' unsupervised bookshelf!

Very Cool Book
What a cool ocean book! There are many pictures in this book that popout at you. My son loves to flip through it, and at almost 3, can even say words like anemone and viper fish after going through this book. The only problem, if you can call it that, is some kids can be a little "grabby", and since this is paper, it could get ripped. The pop-ups are very detailed and colorful. Highly recommend.

Great pop up for older children
One thinks of pop up books for younger children. This is a science pop up with factual information and pop up demonstrations. Very unique. I bought it for my 8 1/2 year old grandson because of course at this age he is fascinated with science but the pop up displays make it more real. I bought him three...this one plus How the World Works and How Weather Works.

Amazing diorama on each page.
My kids were amazed at the pop ups. Each page had a 3d diorama, not a simple picture that popped up. Make sure you carefully turn the pages because you won't want to crush the diorama. This is definitely not the pop up books I grew up with. Some the diorama move, bringing the creatures to life as you open up the page.

Neat pop up book
I bought this book used, it stated it was in like-new condition but it was noticeably used. Some wear on the spine and small scratches on the front cover. The book itself is neat and my kids liked it but I dont think it's worth the price if I had bought it new

Great book for 4 and up, about 6 pages, but well packed with information!
This is a great book! It has great graphic art, pop outs and makes learning about the ocean a lot of fun for the little ones! It's only maybe 6? pages, but they sure pack a lot into those 6- making it seem much longer and bigger! I think the price was right and we are very happy with this book!
