Pretty good meat thermometer. It's a little slow to get the accurate reading, but that's the only downside. I feel it's pretty accurate (compared it to a non-digital one I have that's even slower). Easy to clean and the slotted cap means if it's not completely dry when you cap it, that's ok. Super easy to use, just turn it one and insert into food. Plenty long enough for a variety of foods, including a whole bird in the oven. Display is also just as easy to read, no question as to what the number is.

In spite of some mixed reviews this model has garnered, Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion and free/Prime shipping, *and* 30 day no hassle return policy made this too good of a deal for me to pass up; glad I took a chance because I'm happy to say this has been working exactly as promised in the description.This unit will read the air temperature and then climb to temp slowly if turned on before inserting in food; it took about 10 seconds to get the 165*F reading on a meatloaf which I thought was acceptable for the "slow" mode.Features an "instant read" mode too - insert it into the food product first, *then* turn it on; it will take about 1 second to get a reading this way.The "Hold" button keeps the last temp so if you want to re-check something it doesn't have to start all over again to rise to the last temp taken.Nice design features of a pocket clip and lanyard. Also the cap can be used on the end to add a little extra holding length; this was handy to keep my fingers out of the heat when I was checking food in my toaster/convection oven.Because of the high number of negative reviews regarding if it is waterproof or not, I won't be wetting or submerging this on purpose.Not something I use terribly often (two or three times week) and I've had it a little less than a month so I will update if anything fails or changes for the negative but so far I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Oh how I love this product. It was very affordable and for my purposes, perfect. It takes a little time to give a final temp reading, but it works great, even when changing the targets. Great for beginners!I wish there was a color option, but then again, the yellow makes it easier to spot.Would definitely recommend, and buy again.
