Three earnest animals and one misguided turkey learn about colors, clothes, and getting dressed in this Sandra Boynton classic board book. This whimsical first concept book, featuring a delightful read-aloud text that showcases animals, colors, and clothes, is sure to elicit giggles from little ones as they happily chime in on every spread with an OOPS . BLUE HAT, GREEN HAT, RED HAT, OOPS. Review: A favorite - Blue Hat, Green Hat is a favorite in our home. My 11-month-old absolutely loves it and laughs every time we read it. He thinks it is so silly, and we end up reading it every day. The story is short and engaging, with bright, fun illustrations that capture a baby’s attention. The repetitive structure makes it easy for little ones to follow along, and the unexpected "oops" on each page never gets old. It’s simple, funny, and just the right length for babies and toddlers. This book is a perfect early introduction to colors, clothing, and humor. A must-have for any baby’s bookshelf. Review: A winner - As good as I remembered. Fun to read out loud and the kids never fail to laugh out loud.

Wonderful book for toddlers and young children
As a parent, grandparent and early childhood teacher, I love the Sandra Boynton books. She uses whimsical animal characters and she does so well at playing with language using rhyme, rhythm, text patterns and vocabulary. All of these elements are so important for language development Blue Hat, Green Hat utilizes color words as well as names pieces of clothing and how you would wear those pieces. She makes it fun by having one of her characters wear the piece of clothing unconventionally which makes the listener laugh. I have read this book to my own sons, children in my early childhood classrooms and now to my granddaughter. They all love this book!

One of Boynton's Best
This was one of my kids' favorites when they were little, and now my grandson is enjoying it. What can you say about Boynton? She knows the right combination of silly images, funny juxtapositions, great rhymes and sound-effects that combined makes for a very appealing book for young ages. Honestly, this is good as a very beginner book, as well as for older kids who enjoy reading it on their own. Adults find it funny, too! I can't recommend Sandra Boynton's books highly enough. You will not go wrong with a Boynton book. There's a reason her books have been so popular for so long.

Kid favorite
My daughter was 3 when she could “read” this. It was a combo of memory and recognizing the pictures. She would “read” to me every night

Best Book
This book not only engages the least-book-loving baby, but also helps kids learn colors, clothing articles, left-to-right reading, voice inflection (they love to enthusiastically join in on the “Oooooops!”), ironic and situational humor, and memorization (because they will have it memorized before long). Excellent book. A firm favorite. I love to give to my friends with young children/babies.

This book belongs on all toddler bookshelves!
This is the cutest book for toddlers! My 1.5 year old granddaughter can’t get enough of it! She calls it the “Oops Book.” It teaches colors and can be used for counting practice too.

Funny but relatable!
Reading this book, you may think, "Mama said there'd be days like this!" Or you may think, "Fashion-challenged turkeys of the world, take heart! We have a book!" Either way, it's a funny but relatable way to teach clothing and colors.
