1. The joinery is absolutely awful. A single dowl pin with two metal screws secured into threaded inserts are used to join the corners. This will not make a square and stable joint so the frame will not be square, plumb, level, and untwisted. The result is that the screens will fall out or jam shut. A mortise and tenon or some other joinery that provides a strong and square joint is needed. Even when dowl joints are used in woodworking projects that don't require much strength and stability, two dowls are typical so the joint does not rotate around the single pin in time. The dowel pins are of soft wood and they don't fit well. I broke two, had to drill them out and replace them with stronger dowel pins.2. The directions are lousy. It indicates that the two stiles (vertical frame component) are identical, but they are not. The holes are drilled 1/8 closer at one end. This means there are 3 ways to assemble the frame incorrectly. Have fun with that.3. The precision is poor, with uneven joined surfaces when assembled.The screens will not move or they fall out after taking every measure possible to correct the problem. If you want a room partition, maybe this would suffice, but if you want a shoji screen with sliding panels, this is not it.I truly regret purchasing this piece of junk, and I bought two of them.

We used these doors for a master bathroom remodel. Based on the few other reviews, we were reserved in our expectations. But these doors are gorgeous and function beautifully. You will need to be good with installation (my hubs is) or have them professionally installed, as they aren’t the easiest DIY project, but the results are amazing. They look so beautiful closed with a lamp on inside. Makes the whole bedroom wall glow. Very pleased!
