These are perfect for detail tasks, such as trimming wicking material. The blades are very sharp and cut all the way to the tip. That's especially important when trimming a wick since it allows for very precise, tight cuts. The handles are very comfortable and the spring assisted opening is a great feature. The locking button is lightweight but works fine. The scissors are very light weight. That's both a plus and a minus. It's a plus to avoid hand fatigue and also minimize the force needed to make a cut, but these are not scissors that will stand up to any level of abuse. I wish they came with a holder for more protection in storage. But, as long as you take care of them, the performance is a cut above the rest (sorry, could not resist!)

I cosplay, make medieval garments, and also run an online business where I sell my crafts. Needless to say, I cut and sew a lot. At only 24 I had started to get wrist strain injuries from the large amount of cutting I do. Small detail cutting like clipping curves to turn out was especially hard on my hands with my old shears. These scissors (along with the 8" offset version and small thread clippers) have saved my hands. These small sharp-tipped ones are especially good- I use them in so many ways I'm always forgetting where I left them and I'm buying a second pair to keep them on hand more. Trimming and notching seams, clipping corners, cutting around tight details, all a million times easier. The fact that they lock closed and are small enough to throw into a bag makes them super portable too, I toss them into my travel kit sometimes! If you do a lot of sewing, DON'T wait until you're already hurting to think about protecting your hands and wrists.

I have a Fiskars generic purpose, black handle pair of the same size scissors and I needed something sharper and better able to cut through 2 layers of felt. Well I don’t know if the other scissors are just dull or since they are more generic don’t work as well on fabrics but these orange handled scissors do the job. I was able to cut through 2 layers of a stiff felt, I don’t think you could do more than 2 layers at once. I trust the Fiskars brand to make a durable and sharp pair of scissors and they deliver. Something in the description made me think the actual blade of the scissors would be bigger though so I was a bit disappointed when they arrived and were the same size as the black pair I already had. But the product works great, no issue with the quality, perhaps the description is just a bit off.

These were purchased to be used in my vegetable garden for pruning and they are just what the doctor ordered, the offset design lets you see the exact part that you want to trim without your hand blocking the view. The scissors are very sharp and comfortable to use

These are a great pair of scissors!! I'm making felt applique ornaments and I'm able to get precise cuts and they are easy on the hands.

These are good for one handed usage and I like that they can also lock close when not in use, I have 4 of them and one of them the locking plastic pieces fell out of place so it stays open when stowing them out of the way

I bought this as a replacement for another exact same one that I’d lost several months before. It is so nice and sharp and compact. The quality is good and they are nice and sturdy. They are delicate enough to cut sewing stitches and not cut the fabric. I use mine for many things. The one thing that annoys me is that they do not come with a plastic blade protector cover like my other ones came with. The blades are pokey and sharp, and the cover helps protect whatever thing the blade comes in contact with, including fingers.

This is my second purchase of this item (for backup). Been using my 1st purchase for sewing (snipping corners & curves). Absolutely must have for sewing.

These scissors are perfect for sewing and are very sharp, both the blades and the tips ! The locking system works well and is easy to use. Fiskars is a very well known make and well respected which was part of the reason I bought them. One thing I did do is put a biro pen top over the tips when not in use to protect me and also anything in my sewing caddy ! I can’t fault these, they’re excellent.
