It's not so much the coverage, because you can always buy extra nodes for either version (which I did - I've got four set up) but the MW6 set up is just faster overall. The units have a faster processor on board and the ethernet connection is gigabit where the MW3 is only 100Mbit. My only other, but related, bit of advice (and I don't know how many other buyers would agree with me here, but I stick by it) would be to work out how many units you think you'll need to give you decent coverage and then get at least one more node. I've set two of these meshes up so far and, unless you get extremely lucky with where you can put them, you won't get the coverage you expect. Bear in mind that every node needs a combination of a power socket somewhere nearby, a flat surface to put it on and a relatively clear signal path to at least one other node. Splitting them between floors definitely helps as the signal will go through wooden floors and plasterboard ceilings better than through brick walls. I have a "normal" household with a 350Mb/s line, and three data-hungry kids, and streaming/web gaming is happening often. I'm fairly data hungry too! My old ISP router gave me sustained speeds on my phone (half a house away) or 20-30Mb/s. These units are providing to my phone and laptop anywhere in the house around 100Mb/s. That's pretty much the limit of current WiFi in an environment with walls, wires, furniture. The downside of these units is that they are dual-band, ie 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz. So the units use the same WiFi channels you're using to communicate with each other. More expensive systems use a third channel to back-end communicate and that presumably makes things faster...
