I bought this piece because apparently my house was built during a decade where the drain to p-trap length is longer than it is today (or at least wear the drain/ptrap kit was manufactured). And so, I required something a bit longer and I'm very pleased to say that this tail-piece did the trick. I was able to cut it to the size I needed with a jeweler's saw easily (just a tool I had lying around). It also matched the other brass pieces I had. I recommend this if you need an extra piece because your house is a little different!

Standard piece for sink drains, just right!

I purchased a modern brushed gold P-trap (that just out straight from the wall rather than curves) and this extension pipe matched exactly. This is brushed gold and should match exactly with other brushed gold metal accents.

I bought a 12-in tail piece knowing that I'd have to cut it down. Unfortunately, this is pretty thin gauge. The thicker gauge cuts better. This pipe just wanted to bend and dent, and the cutter wandered all over. Not too happy, though it will work. I would look elsewhere if you need to cut. (Edited 2024.04.01 to correct typos)

I ordered this tail pipe because I needed a longer length when updating my vanity from a drop-in to vessel sink. The local hardware stores either didn’t have the size in stock or were closed. This shipped free next-day for the win. The pipe and flange fit my pop up drain assembly like a glove. Which is odd because it’s a pipe.

Made the connection I needed for my sink. Metal is very thin. Hope it lasts ok
