and cool rather than gaudy
Try to find an umbrella not made in America. I'd tell you it's worth the price just to get a skill-of-the-craft product from someplace other than Asia, but that's not the half of it. This thing is an absolute work of art. I bought it just because it wasn't Chinese, but I thought it might be a little over the top for gaudy. Nope -- world class. Exceptional weight and balance, a smooth action, subtle pattern on the fabric, and cool rather than gaudy. Wife is getting a different model for Christmas.
