A great budget purifier!
Having realised that potentially I have a problem with dust and dust mites (they're so small, how can one tell for sure?!), primarily cos I have a black cat (big culprits for making dust - darn you kitty!), and I probably shed a whole load of skin myself (darn you me!).Sneezing, and far too many flare ups of itchy skin, left me looking (desperately) for a solution. Now there are tons of people out there offering magical lotions and potions (for me and kitty), none of them cheap, none of them long-lasting...Well, one day it struck me - look for an air purifier! So I did. I researched for yonks on Amazon (oh the agony trying to sift between the negative and positive reviews, it is a tough job sometimes getting a balanced overview!), and eventually I bought a Levoit Core 350 P350, which at the time was slightly cheaper at £120 (than the current £140 price), as it had fairly consistent reviews - a solid little device, no thrills though in that it has no display or automatic setting. At first I couldn't tell if it was doing something - the main way I discerned that it does was by shinning a torch at night and seeing a constant stream of dust particles being taken into the device. As I was moving this about the house with me, I realised that a second device would be a good thing - one for upstairs and one for downstairs - but I sure couldn't fork out another £120-£140! So more research.I came upon this Air Purifier by Elechomes and was intrigued. I was very wary at first as so many positive reviews were by Amazon users who had been given the device free to use and then review via the Vine scheme (how do I get free stuff!??!), which I thought might create a bit of a bias.... but, the cost of the unit was available for over half the price of the Levoit P350 (approx £50 when I bought it), so I thought I'd risk it....This Air Purifier is very similar in design to the Levoit P350, although slightly lighter in weight. But then the real bonus of this Elechomes Air Purifier is that it has a display to show the level of dust it is taking in which is a funky little feature. It also has an automatic mode, which will switch to one of the corresponding fan speeds (3 in total - low, medium, and high) to deal with the issue; I know this works, cos when kitty goes into manic mode kicking up her cat litter the fan switches to top speed and the display read a top level to show how much dust is coming its way, and then switches down again once the level of dust drops. As Warren Beatty would say "NEAT"! If you have the unit lit-up (which is an option to have on or off) then the groovy little display and coloured light in the unit correspond accordingly to the fan speed - trippy! So far, the only niggle with the device is that even when the light option is switched off, there is an icon of a bulb which stays lit up - this is fine during the day, or if the unit is doing it's job whilst awake, but even in the lowest-lowest setting (sleep mode) it stays lit up, which if you have it on at bedtime spills out enough light to be annoying (I can handle this, but I know many people out there may be troubled by this...). Therefore this unit lives downstairs with kitty (I don't think the little bit of light bothers her - she's not mentioned it anyway...) and the Levoit unit upstairs with me, so I can sleep sans light. So, if you want a nice little funky, and seemingly effective Air Purifier at a very nice price, then this is for you.Sneezing and itchy skin flare ups have diminished/ceased exponentially for me and kitty, and whether people think these things are the Emperor's New Clothes, or merely psychosomatic I would disagree. I just wish I'd invested in one sooner. If I had tried this Elechomes Air Purifier first, then I would still have been super happy, as it has made a great difference to mine (and kitty's) wellbeing and happiness.

The real deal!
This is a really good air filter. After a week a lot of dust had been caught in the filter and that's just the big particles on the outside and this is a really beefy filter. There is no comparison to the crappy one I had brought before which if you are reading this you likely may have seen. Look at the pictures and make your own conclusions.I brought it for my hayfever and now have it on all the time and move it into whatever room I am spending extended time in.Well worth the purchase and I have recommended it to others and those that brought it also love it.

I would 100% buy this product again!
Exactly as it states!Amazingly quiet during sleep mode - hasn’t and won’t disturb me during the night!Auto mode is a life saver - allows it to adapt to real time changes around you! It’s bigger than I expected BUT it’s still small enough to be placed somewhere and to not be in the way.100% recommend this product!

Too loud for bedrooms, questionable performance
After looking for an air purifier for a few weeks, I was tempted by this one because it included an air quality sensor at a low price. After using it for a day in our bedroom, I either should have spent a little more money or I don't require an air purifier at all.I wanted one to help with my wife and my allergies (pollen and dust mites). I was surprised when I set it up the first time and it said the air quality was good and gave a reading of 44 (particles <2.5 microns per cubic meter I guess, but it wasn't very clear). After running it at full power for 8 hours, the reading only fell to 41. Was the air already pure, or had the machine done very little? Without an air quality meter, I'll never know, although our allergies suggest the latter.I set it to sleep mode when we went to bed and discovered that sleep mode is the same as fan speed 1, it just turns off most of the lights. During the day, the hum of the fan on speed one would be fine, you can hear it but it's not loud. At night when you're trying to sleep, it seems very loud. For comparison, we have a 10 year old pedestal fan that we use when it's warm, and on fan speed 1 that's almost silent. The air purifier was significantly louder and it's a motor noise rather than the sound of air movement. The air purifier made no noticeable difference to either of our allergies, but certainly made getting to sleep harder, so I returned it. Perhaps it works in a different application, but personally if you're tempted to buy one, I'd look at a different model.

Excellent customer service and great value machine
Very light weight and neat size. Auto mode is great as it adjusts the speed depending on the air quality. Very quiet in sleep mode and I like that it displays the air quality in numbers and colour. My first machine started to make a rattling noise after a few weeks - The elechomes customer service was excellent and I’ve since had a replacement. The machine is a good price as are the replacement filters.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I have to return it. From the 1st day of using it I was feeling the atmosphere weird like"dry", I couldn't breath so well. Yes the air quality sensor is working fine, it's not noisy at all only a little when it's working in strongest mode. But again it didn't bother me. If I didn't feel the atmosphere like this and I didn't have to have all day in the cold days the windows open for fresh air, so I could breath better, I would keep it but no..

Great little unit :)
Great item for the money. We’ve got indoor rabbits, and my partner vapes, and this little guy is taking care of all the fumes and smells. No noticeable effect on our energy bill either, which is a plus. We’re in a studio flat, and the unit responds pretty quickly to any change within a few seconds, so definitely large enough for a small flat or big room etc!

The dog
Used it to combat a dog with a severe dust mite allergy. He is not out of the woods yet. But may be helping! Or so could the new fresh boiled chicken and spinach diet and anti-biotics as well. But we are trying different methods. So thank you.
