Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Perfectly Suited to Our Small-ish City Yard.
When I read the initial reviews of this set, I wondered if I'd be making a wise purchase. It turned out to be one of our best decisions ever for taking care of our 60' x 60' yard. This equipment is MUCH lighter (which might lead some people to think they're not well-made), Even my husband was dubious when he first took the tools out of the box. His first comment was "are these toys???" Some of the reviews suggest that the leaf-blower is weak. I suppose if you intend to use it as a professional landscaping tool or if you have a lot of trees that drop mounds of Autumn leaves it would not be a good choice for those uses. However, it is perfect for cleaning up after mowing and trimming. We have a large porch and our driveway is wide behind our house. This blower cleans them quickly and perfectly -- not a grass clipping, chunk of dry dirt, or small stone in sight. We have one tree that drops small leaves, and the blower is perfectly suited for those. The trimmer is everything a person needs to keep fence-lines neat and pretty, and to neatly edge the sidewalk and garage. Here's are the two MAIN REASONS my husband loves these so much: 1) they are much quieter than the previous ones (same brand) and 2) the battery life is significantly improved. Even in our small yard, we had four batteries that had to be charged to & changed to complete the job. Now, he can do it very quickly, all with one interchangeable battery. He likes the trimmer so much that he edges the all the sidewalks of the two houses to our left and two to our right. The neighbors love him! Overall, we are very, very glad we chose this set; good price, does what we need, easy to use, quiet by comparison... what more could a person want?

Arrived dirty and used!
When we opened this carton, the unit was covered in grass clippings. It had apparently been used and probably returned. Submitted for replacement.

Great edger; disappointed in the blower.
The edger does a good job and I don't see any problems with grass, weeds, etc. Some of the reviews say it can't handle the load when you have a jungle. Duh! However, if you are looking for something that is light-weight, easy to work with, and electric, then this edger is not bad. That's what we wanted, and it's pretty much what we got.On the other hand, if the grass is wet, the blower can't handle it. The blower consumes a lot of power unless whatever you are blowing is VERY dry. In that case, it works fine.

Easy to use
Super easy to use, I am a 50 year old female and this product is perfect for me to use. Glad I got the 2 battery option because I do have a big yard and the battery only last about 30 mins. It does take hours to charge.

Good for Basic Yard Work
Good equipment for around the yard, and the battery power is handy. Don't expect to start a landscaping company with equipment like this. The string trimmer is good at trimming grass and the blower is OK unless the grass is wet. Get two batteries, because you will not be able to trim and clean an entire yard with both tools on one battery charge. Batteries take several hours to charge, so always have one ready to go.

Perfect for what it is, don't expect what it isn't
To start off, I own a $375 Honda 4-stroke string trimmer that could cut a farm field, and a 15 amp, 200 MPH corded blower that adequately clears wet leaves from a large lawn. Why did I buy these? The cord is a pain, the corded blower sounds like a 747 landing, the Honda is heavy and a pain, and sometimes my wife wants to just touch up my grass cutting along the side of the house and the trees. She always preferred to use the 15 year old battery-powered Black and Decker that finally died. She will use the Honda only if absolutely necessary and if I start it. So we plopped down an entire $88 to buy this string trimmer and "sweeper" (they won't call it a blower, for good reason). What this is--------------It's $88 for two tools! The string trimmer is incredibly light weight and does a fine job of light trimming along the house walls and sidewalks. It has an edger-bracket that pops out and keeps the spacing right. I would not call it a strong edger though. The line feed is automatic. No stupid bumping. It works fine.It comes with TWO decent-capacity lithium ion battery packs. Each one will run the trimmer for about a half-hour. I haven't tested battery life on the "sweeper" yet.The "sweeper" does a fine job of clearing grass clippings and dry leaves off of the patio and sidewalk. The "sweeper" is WAY quieter than the corded blower (and gas-engine blowers). What it isn't---------------It only has one string and the rotational speed is not that high. If you have to clear thick weeds or brush, or are actually trying to cut a patch of grass along a hill for example, this is not the tool for the job.The "sweeper" is NOT a leaf blower. Not even close.Summary-----------This tool set is outstanding for light-duty jobs. I am going to use it myself over the Honda and the corded blower after most grass cutting jobs. For tougher jobs, I'll break out the heavy artillery and use the Honda or the corded blower. You don't really expect commercial-quality string trimming and leaf-blowing, in a cordless package, for $88, do you?

Works Well but poor battery life
Overall the trimmer and blower work well enough. The blower is a bit underpowered but it's also quieter than most. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the battery life isn't that great. Black & Decker shouldn't haven even made a 1.5AH battery for these. They take a very long time to charge and it takes about 2.5 full batteries to trim my very small < 1/4 acre yard. These would be much better with the addition on a 3AH battery but for the price of that you might as well buy a better trimmer that comes with better batteries. As is, with the included batteries these would be perfect for anyone renting an RV lot. The blower is great for patios and such. The battery life just makes the trimmer impractical for any yard bigger than a rv lot.

Practico
