GretschDrums Full Range Series S1-6514-BRH 6.5x14" Hammered Brass Snare Drum

I’ve played Birch & Maple snares primarily for the past 20+ years and I got to say after putting an Evans HD Dry head on this brass snare and one small moon gel, it tuned up fast and with just minimal adjustments (right or left) to the snare strainer, you get that low, medium & or high sound so seamlessly. Without a doubt, this is by far the best sounding snare I’ve ever owned and it’s now my new # 1!

Been playing drums off and on for almost 40 years. Was looking for a good quality snare but did not want to pay the big prices of top of the line snares. A local music shop boss told me he has several high end snares that I could try out from Ludwig, Yamaha, and Gretch. They were all amazing but when he told me what their retail prices were I thought it would not be appropriate as my world tours with my kit consist of going from the extra bedroom to the living room when my buddies come over so we can jam. The drum was easy to tune up for my liking. I like my snare tighter than most and the ring was perfect without using any extra dampening. For the price, this drums looks fantastic and sounds great.

I'm a recent convert to Gretsch after decades of being a Ludwig/Tama kind of guy. This drum is very versatile and I can make it fit in with just about any situation. These are definitely worth trying out!

This Snare drum is wonderful. I am on tour right now, it is reliable and sturdy. I'm very confident that I'll be using this baby for many years to come. Versatile and incredibly beautiful.

This snare is my pride and joy. It's loud, it's got a good crack to rimshots, can be both tuned high and low. The best part of this is I got a bargain. This drum was marked down by 40% of the retail price, so I HAD to get my hands on it for a steal.If you collect Gretsch snares like I do, you want this in your arsenal. I guarantee it.Like I said before, this drum is perfect for recording. I wouldn't recommend playing this live, it's like a huge punch to everyone's faces with each back beat you make, unless you're in a big live setting.
