SmartZone-4X Control - 4 zone controller KIT w/Temp sensor - Universal Replacement for honeywell zoning panel truezone hz432 & more

I had a 20 year old Carrier Zone controller on its last legs. I bought this Ecojay SmartZone-4X controller to replace the old one at the point I upgraded the furnace and cooling condenser. Before I bought the EcoJay product, I called in to verify that it would work with my equipment. I got a slow, detailed, thorough discussion, and decided to buy it. After my new HVAC equipment was installed, I installed the zone controller. The product does exactly what the sales literature says it will. I've had it in use for about a month, and it's performed flawlessly. This controller board is exceptionally well-designed and manufactured. It's easy to install, and the documentation is easy to follow. The board has LED lights on it and digital displays that tell you exactly what the board is doing, making it a snap to diagnose problems and monitor the board's performance during the test-out phase of installation. The post-sale support is exceptional on all counts. Fast, competent, patient, free. I am not an HVAC professional, and I made two mistakes during installation which would have ruined a less-well-designed board. I called EcoJay's support line, and they helped me fix my problems in minutes. I recommend this product with no reservations.

I had an older Durozone Red-4 zone control system that failed and had to find a replacement. I found this product on Amazon and it is actually better than my original unit. Installation was pretty straight forward with the exception of wiring the dampers. The old dampers were also Durozone dampers and they had 5 terminals and required both 24AC wires to power the dampers. The Smartzone damper connections only contained the common terminal. Luckily, the Smartzone website provides wiring instructions for many types of dampers and I was able to power the dampers with no issues. I've looked at a lot of different options for zone controls and this solution was by far the cheapest and best solution I could find.

I don't write many reviews. However, I feel I need to about this product and customer support. The system was very easy to wire up. Pretty Self explanatory. Directions were straight forward and easy to understand. However, I did have an issue but not with the ECOJAY System.. It was me being "A MAN" and not fully reading the instructions on the Thermostats I bought. Thinking I had everything correct.. I called ECOJAY support.. AMAZINGLY an actual person answered the phone and I didn't have to press 1 for English etc... I Immediately was talking with Jeff, Tech Support. Jeff was very helpful and knowledgeable of not only his product by other products as well.. He walked me through some troubleshooting to be sure what he knew what the issue was. My "Failure" to read and follow the Settup of the Thermostats was the issue. Jeff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Jeff...

Great replacement for a Honeywell zone control. Comes complete with discharge air sensor. I purchased the four zone control. Allows the installer to individually identify each zone style thermostat. Works well with gas, electric or heat pump.

After failures of 2 Honeywell HZ311 multi-zone controllers in 5 years, I decided not to manifest the definition of “insanity” by replacing the second blown board with a 3rd one. I went with this ecojay instead. I bought and installed the 4x board and it is far superior to the Honeywell HZ311 in every way. Having had to troubleshoot and repair multiple issues over several years with the Honeywell board, I had become well versed in the multizone concept and function, so by the time I installed this board, it literally took me 30 minutes to install, including two trips to the garage to flip breakers. I love the status lights and temp sensor reading for the supply line. I’m very happy with this product and it has been working perfectly.

I got a SmartZone 4X years ago with my new zoned system and it has worked great. The unit comes with a clear installation guide full of pictures and diagrams. It would be difficult NOT to install correctly. Recently my heat stopped working. The board said my return air supply was 145 degrees and had hit the high-temp cutoff (which shuts off the heat) when in fact the inside air was about 67 degrees. I'm not an HVAC guy by any means, but I looked at the installation guide and was easily able to understand what all the lights meant and did a reset and then watched the system go through its paces and verified everything was working as expected other than the probe. I emailed the seller and he explained that I just needed to remove the probe from the board and it would revert to a non-zoned system with the primary thermostat controlling the heat and air. He then sent me a new probe free of charge with priority shipping. This is the second time I have dealt with the SmartZone support and they have been great each time. Kudos!
