This was a great price and a quslity addition for my Dremmel tool goodies.

This attachment has increased my scope of service ten fold. The Dremel is a very viable tool with the router assembly for smaller, more precise work that a conventional router is just too cumbersome and overpowered for.

I wish I had bought this tool a long time ago! However it is somewhat let down by mediocre manufacturing which could easily have been mitigated by good design (but wasn't). So the good: I used these to recess hinges into a door and door frame. Produced quality recesses my home builder could only dream of achieving. I have a quality router in my garage but I keep finding new uses for this dremel tool. As an example, I use it to accurately drill pilot holes in wood at precisely 90 degree. Highly recommended if you do any wood work around the home! The bad: This is a plunger router with two hefty springs that return the dremel back to its at-rest position. However, if you want to lock the router in place you can do this by turning one of the handles. The problem is the lock only operates on one of the two guide shafts. Poor tolerances allow the router to cant at a small angle (maybe 2-3 degrees). This makes setting the correct bit depth harder than it should be and creates a slightly asymmetric cut. The problem could've been mitigated by a second lock on the other guide shaft, but none is provided. The recommendation: You will need to buy a set of router bits and I recommend you also buy a keyless, quick change tool chuck for the dremel. This allows you to use a wide range of 3rd party bits and tool (OCGIG 0.4-3.4mm). This is a must-have item if you want to use non-dremel accessories. I rarely use the dremel chuck now! Overall the tool is good value but I wish they had spent a few dollars to produce the perfect tool.

I just simply love this dremel attachment, seems well made and easy to use.

Lots of complaints about "stiff springs" or "hard to plunge" but the only time i had that issue is if i didn't loosen the plunge lock knob enough. It is a relatively fine adjustment and takes SEVERAL turns before the plunge function is smooth and easy. This is a feature not a bug. The depth stop sucks big time, never stays where you put it since they are plastic threads that just vibrate loose. But I don't really think it's that necessary on a cheap flimsy tool. This thing is exactly what you should get for the price, you want a little better accuracy and quality then buy a WEN router for $20-$40 more. Perfect, exactly the right price, exactly what I needed for some routing in some custom 2x4 lumber shelves I'm making. Make sure everything is tight and you fully seat the tool straight and it works well. You get what you pay for, this tool is exactly what you need if you are shopping in this price point.

Does a pretty good job for what it is.

I bought this accessory to use when I'm doing inlay work and want fine control over the depth of cut. This offering from Dremel was underwhelming, as there is no facility to finely adjust depth of cut, plus the two support columns have enough play to eliminate the usefulness of the provided template guides. I found there to be almost 1/8" of side play as one or the other column rose or fell. Unacceptable. On the plus side, the price is attractive. Edit: Upon reading other reviews, I found one that mentioned the screw holding the support posts in place were not tight. Checking this, I found the screws on my base to also be a little loose. I tightened them (with a little Loc Tite to boot) and the play I mentioned above was nearly eliminated. I added a star to my review as a result and updated the title.

Nice tool extension. Can do so much more with it.

I wish to have a second dremel in future to use this as a permanent router! Perfect... find a video for the set up and follow step by step the instructions.
