Exactly what it is
Not much to say here, it’s exactly what it is from one of the oldest, most trusted brands. I do think they’ve gone down hill though, but maybe it’s just this cheaper end model idk. There’s nothing wrong with it, but my old one just seemed to have been made better 20 years ago. Guess that’s with everything nowadays and I can’t really complain bc of how simple they are. Regardless it works perfectly and is exactly what I needed. Plus it’s still made in the UK and that’s always a selling point to me, to support any company that hasn’t resorted to outsourcing. You won’t find a better one, if you can even find another one at all…

Works!
I have not had to use yet, but it fits as expected. I anticipate it will be an asset.

Bonded leather, unfinished edges, plastic. Does the job, but at the expense of comfort.
The product is not actual boot leather, it is bonded leather. As such, if used much, I would expect it to hold up about as well as bonded leather generally does, which is poorly. The product is stiff, and the edges are unfinished and unburnished, so it's going to cut into the flesh. This is not unique to this vendor, as these palms are standard fare now and much inferior to items produced in the past. I think a much higher quality product could be produced without a great deal more effort, and if there was a widespread market I imagine one would be. The low score on this item is not an indictment against the vendor as they are only middle men, but this is an item that is pretty much useful only in the most dire of circumstances, in my opinion. I would willingly pay double for a palm of double utility.

Looks good
Haven't used this yet, but I think it will do the job it signed up for. A little stiff, out of the box, as expected, applied some leather conditioner, to improve the suppleness.

works nicely
I do quilting, and have always dreaded pushing the needle through the layers of fabric. I made a quilt for my nephew designed to add patches to grow with his interests, needless to say pushing a needle through both fabric and a patch became too much, but this allows me to safely and painlessly sew the patches on

Quality materials, but Poor craftmanship.
The product does the job. However, the way its built does take into account that having any sharp edges, or hard surfaces rubbing against your skin will cause blisters if you use this on a project that takes more than a few minutes. Its craftmanship is dissapointing.

but looks over all solid i am of the old school and spent a few years cruising so my opinion is with merit for the money i think
fits a 6'5" 350 pound man. my only detractor is the white materal appears to be plastic, but looks over all solid i am of the old school and spent a few years cruising so my opinion is with merit for the money i think this will give good service for many year if you keep a little neetsfoot oil on the leather from time to time....enjoy you sail and heavy material hand sewing i always do. and Vote we need change :)
