I have tested several rods using a dial indicator to check for straightness. I use the HF digital dial indicator on a magnetic stand. The key to getting consistent results is to have a follower that rides on top of the rod so that minor xy position error does not affect the dial indicator reading. I use a piece of glass as it provides a perfectly flat surface to the rod. Good stock rods are typically <0.05mm out of round. Unfortunately one of my boxes was damaged in shipping, but one of the rods was undamaged. It measured better than 0.01mm!. The second set of rods arrived in perfect condition with high denisty foam separating the rods and protecting them from the box at 5 different points. Customer service was excellent for the damaged box. I will update when I get a chance to test the second set of rods

Bought these to replace the awful rods that came with the Anet A8 plus. Great straightness and surface finish. Worked very well and do not any grooves where the rolling elements make contact after 100h like the Anet rods did.

Used these to build a rock tumbler. Couple 3D printed pulleys and a little welded frame and it was running in no time.

Needed to replace the 2 “Y” axis rods on my Prusa i3 mk2s. Out of the box these rods are smoother than the ones Prusa uses. Upon further inspection, I noticed when placed on a perfectly flat surface these rods are slightly bowed, although not by much. The stock rods that Prusa uses were 99.9% straight. Overall these new rods work fine.

Only one little thing ... at the ends of rod stock, the parting machine has slightly bulged the diameter, because it is a just-loose fit in accessories, it is easy to grind off a minute bit of that edge ... case hardened and coated with chrome is tough stuff, but on a grinding wheel no problem ...This is good stock, will make a lot of small machines easier to build, there are so many accessories available.

These were perfect for my project, which is a custom start gate for a Pinewood Derby track. Both rods were perfectly straight. They cut easily with my chop saw and a 7" diamond metal cutting blade. Dimensions were as advertised. Shipped promptly and arrived on time.

Many of the reviews talked of bent rods but mine were perfectly straight and absolutely smooth. The diameter was precisely 8mm, pretty much all you could ask for.

The gap between these rods and the liner bearings is such that it wobbles a little. They could be both more precise. I ended up returning it.

I got two sets of these (Y (330mm) and Z (320mm) axis) for an LDO Bear2.1 upgrade for my 3d printer. Well packaged so they arrived in perfect condition. Accurate lengths and my standard bearing run nice and smooth with minimal noise.
