I got my Orolay jacket in 2016. It is wonderful in Seattle in Seattle (September thru Feb). It's hard to beat this hood. Love all the pockets and the side zip vents are awesome.. now they're on everything! I walk and have waited for the bus in the pouring rain and it has kept me warm and dry. It isn't like a micro-down that if you don't wipe off the slightest moisture it will soak through. After it takes a bath in the rain it will feel damp but I have never experienced water seepage on the inside. For clarity's sake, a person should wear weather appropriate clothing - heavy rain should get a RAIN COAT (NOT trench coat bc water will definitely bleed through a trench). For temps below 35, adding different layers would be fun and helpful.

What is the tempertaure rating?

I purchased this recently in December 2022. It’s the end of January and -4° outside in Colorado. I had a long sleeve dry fit shirt underneath and remained very warm in this coat. Honestly I didn’t think it was going to stand the test of time in the cold winter evenings here. But I’m here to tell ya, I’m cozy warm in it out in negative degree weather.

Down coats will always look like you’re wearing a trash bag. Their function is warmth and no one will ever laugh at you for buying one l. Each one is stylish in its own way! And warmth knows no style is the saying in The Rocky Mountains or in New England where I spent most of my life. Enjoy your down coat and dress it up with long trendy scarves, camouflage with bright pinks, turquoise blues, the skies the limit on the accessories.
