At first we were hesitant… it seemed like a lot of money. The original mattress was pricey and then adding this…But it has been so worth it. Being able to wash it is a huge blessing and being able to swap in a new one while the other is in the washer and dryer is clutch. No waiting until the morning or hoping we can position baby outside of a wet spot.As soon as this arrived my husband pushed his face into it to see if he could breathe… it is very breathable and makes us feel like baby is safer sleeping on this surface.

This mattress is worth every penny. My daughter learned to roll over at started sleeping on her face (her face planted straight in the mattress)! It was terrifying and I couldn't sleep knowing she was doing that. As a healthcare worker, I know all too well the risks of unsafe sleep. I immediately looked around and came across the Newton mattress. Like other reviewers have said, we tried it out ourselves and you really can breathe comfortably with your face squished in the mattress. I am no longer losing sleep at night because of my crazy daughter's preferred sleeping position!

This has been a life saver! My 4-month old daughter loves to sleep on her tummy (even though I always put her to sleep on her back) and recently has been burrowing her head in the mattress and sleeping face down. I was always staring at the monitor and rushing in to move her so getting no sleep. She is also sleeping in longer stretches now - she used to wake up every 1-2/hours but now she can go 3-4/hours.

All of the photos show the 100% waterproof cover. However, the description details (now after closer examination) says not water resistant. SO this tells me that the photos are for the waterproof cover, but the description and item sent are NOT the waterproof cover. This is extremely misleading. I was expecting it to be waterproof, but it is NOT.

We have been co-sleeping and now that our baby is 3 months it was time to go to the crib. He naps on his tummy and I wanted a mattress that he could continue to sleep on his stomach without worry. The first night we put him in the crib, he slept 7 hours. Everytime we lay him down, he is comfortable and sleeps soundly. This mattress is a great investment!

I'm obsessed with this mattress and this replacement cover is a great addition to have. It arrived in perfect condition, easy to place on the mattress, and easy to care for. I love having the backup cover so that my son doesn't have to sleep somewhere else when the cover is in the wash.
