Instant Family Devotions: 52 Bible Discussions For Anytime, Anywhere Use Paperback – July 1, 2012

My kids are 5, 9 and 12. It can be difficult to find a devotional that works for broad ages. I like that each day has a block of scripture to read and the questions are thought provoking. Honestly I'm quite surprised with my 5 year olds responses to some of the the thought provoking questions. Our lesson the other night was about the 10 commandments and the 5 year old picked up on it right away. The questions were related to rule in the our family and asking to name them and she right away picked up on the 10 commandments and then when we read the scripture and she realized it was the 10 commandments, she lit up. (Side note - teach your children the 10 commandments. It's so important!)We finish dinner, clear the table and head over to the couch so we can be relaxed and take our time. I highly recommend this as sometimes at the table people can feel like "Lets just get this done" . When we take it to the couch, it feels like family time. Well it is family time! We're learning about God together. I highly recommend this book.

What a wonderful book for guided family devotional time. We've used it for our family devotions and I've even used it as a discussion guide for youth group Bible studies. Highly recommended.
