Hercules Aircraft Model by Time For Machine

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and when he opened it he was very happy. He said that it comes with a pair of white gloves and the tools needed. He hasn't put it together yet but I will update this review when he does

This model is not for kids/young adults. Hech most adulrs will not have the patience to build without wanting to throw it. Lol

Great model, definitely takes some effort and experience in building models. It’s a work of art. Your’s may look awful, and someone else’s will look really great. The quality of it is very good, but there is a couple issues with the instructions that if fixed would make the model exponentially more fun to build and come out looking better. A couple notes, they really need to put a big stop sign on the spring that says DONT CUT THIS UNTIL IT IS ATTACHED TO THE BASE!!!!! It exploded and cut my finger. The instructions don’t explain until like page three, and the fine print on the first page is not very clear or in a relevant place so it’s easy to over look and is pretty ambiguously explained on the first page. It’s completely impossible to put the spring in the correct position without it being attached to the base before the wrap is cut to release its tension. I had to cut down the spring to 1/4 it’s original size. The model may or may not spin, that’s really determined by how precise you make it. The other thing too is they really need to emphasize what direction the lines on the parts should be. I do not get why they couldn’t just tell you what side the lines go on. It is really confusing because the parts are symmetrical, so when you have to redo something because the lines are not supposed to show, the parts may break. Tip, a little bit of CA glue strategically placed will help make some parts of the build easier, especially if you have CA Excelerator. Also CA was great when I had to redo a few things and the tabs on the canopy broke. I should have looked at the picture before hand. The lines on the wings need to be facing up, and not down.

Good quality, some problem with mounting. Use it for displays.

Great looking after putting together. I installed the gears only on engines number one and just getting those 2 to turn was a nightmare. The way the propeller shafts go into a split open deal will never work. I filed the areas smooth but still get caught in the split opening when they turn, not a good design in that area and it one of the most important aspects to the project. Looks great, will never spin all the engines.

My Dad and I bought this for my grandpa who loves models and putting things together. He loves it! He said it was a good challenge because hes never built anything like it before.

The item I ordered was not what I received. It was supposed to be a metal model with multiple propellers. It turned out to be a wood and plastic single engine plane. I was disappointed. It looked nothing like the picture in the ad.

This looks great. Good instructions and the parts seem sturdy. I gave as a gift to my dad and he loved it.

Really looking forward to assembling this beautiful example of the 'Heavenly Hercules Wind-up Puzzle' Incredibly well packaged, comes with everything you need in the box. I loved how I was supplied in the box with all the tools necessary to complete this puzzle, and the white gloves were an especially nice touch. However, Realistically although the instruction were very clear in what went where, and what part connects to another. When it comes to bending the metal frame pieces and aligning them correctly, it was near impossible. 'All common sense if you follow the diagrams and instructions clearly' However!! There were no clear instruction as to how far you were to bend each metal piece, so not only will they connect to one-another with precision but to allow all the other corresponding rotating cogs to spin freely 'to which there were many'. None of them aligned properly and therefore does not spin. I had to go on to YouTube and watch videos from other people who had purchased this model to see what they did in order for the model to work correctly as shown in your Video's and presentations on your website. I learned from various YouTube vids, that some of the major metal pieces and cogs do not align correctly, and you have to physically bend them yourself!!! This was not made clear what so ever in the instructions. so I proceeded 'none the wiser' and completed my model using the misleading instructions provided. I now have a none functioning perfectly built "by your instructions provided" Heavenly Hercules Wind-up Mechanical Model 3D Puzzle' THAT DOES NOT WORK!!!! Waste of money unfortunately! Still cannot fault the packaging and presentation and supplied tools, BUT DOES NOT WORK!!!!

Mein Sohn hat das Modell zum 12. Geburtstag bekommen, nach 2 Tagen war es selbständig fertig gebaut. Er ist ein sehr genauer, sorgfältiger Arbeiter. Es ist wunderschön geworden! Anfangs hat es beim Drehen etwas gestockt, mit etwas Geduld und einer guten Portion Nähmaschinenöl, besonders auf der Spule, lief es dann super! Nur der kleine Hebel, der es beim Drehen stoppt, will noch nicht alleine offen stehen bleiben. Mein Sohn ist glücklich damit!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. We have had no end of problems trying to get this together. The instructions are poor as they are just pictures with very few words. They don't tell you which way up parts of the model goes. The tools that are supplied with it are ok but not the complete set that you really require to put the model together. Watched the official video of assembly which shows the builder using tools that are not supplied with the model. The metal parts bend too easily in the wrong places causing the model to become warped and even more difficult to put together. really disappointed especially at the price that this cost. If I was the manufacturer, I would take a serious look at the instructions and make the much clearer. I would also look at the thickness of the metal to make it sturdier so it doesn't get out of shape so easily. I would not recommend this product.

La conception est bien détaillée d'autant plus qu'il existe une vidéo sur youtube de montage de cette maquette (il manque les indication sur les rouages qui sont plus épais que d'autres et ce n'est pas toujours évident de comprendre lesquels ont doit utiliser en fonction du plan de montage notamment dans les premières étapes, or si vous vous en rendez compte trop loin dans l'avancement de la maquette il est quasi impossible de faire marche arrière, il faut donc être TRES ATTENTIF/VE) pas forcément évident à faire pour ceux qui n'ont jamais fait de modélisme ou débutent... Une fois terminé rien à dire la maquette est très belle un peu plus petite que ce que je pensais. Le materiel est fourni dedans et suffit à monter le tout (il faut peut être une lame ou tournevis fin pour certaines attaches comme ils ont dans la vidéo...) Le seul petit bémol est relatif au mécanisme. Les rouages étant très complexes et assez nombreux, la probabilité pour qu'une fois tout monté, ils fonctionnent parfaitement et permettent de faire tourner les hélices comme c'est censé être le cas, est assez faible... dommage
