If i was to give out the pagers could the person with the pager alert other pagers or the main unit to work both ways

It only works one way . You give the pager to a person and you call them back in by the number allocated. They cannot page other users from the single unit . Only the main unit can communicate with each single unit .

Can you buy the buzzers on their own as replacement?

Would it work to call students from my music teaching room all the way down 5 (or 6) floors to the basement?

I would be doubtfull that the range would be enough to do what your asking. We use ours for customers in a Shop waiting outside. The range for us is reliable at around 150 yards away going through 1 set of windows. I think sending the signal through multiple walls and floors may be an issue for you. Just my opinion.

Very handy but not extremely strong waves through thick walls

These are good in the restaurant to alert waiters that food is ready in the kitchen but if your building has thick walls it might not be strong enough.

Makes life so much easier!

We use these in a busy restaurant environment. They work wonderfully and haven't let us down once. Give one to a customer, go on about your business, when table is ready you buzz their number. Saves you legwork, and having to actually go find anyone - they come to you. Only gave 4 stars - would give 5 if units could be charged and used without base station having to be permanently plugged in. This isn't a deal breaker though, just make sure you have a mains socket beside your working area.
