Check the belt waist size, over 30" it won't fit. Worth checking out.
This is a very well made product. I wasn't expecting as much from it and was pleasantly surprised. The belt, fully expanded, will go out to 30" or so. If your kid is bigger than that, it won't fit. The vest part seemed like it would expand even larger. My kid's pretty skinny and even with the 30" waist he had a lot of room left given the expandable straps on the side. I didn't measure that, but even a chunky kid with 30" waist should be able to wear it.The two bigger pockets on the left side (viewing it as pictured) would hold a single 30 round AR mag per pocket. I didn't actually try an AK mag, but I don't think it would fit as there's not enough room for the curvature of the magazine. The holster is attached to the vest via a section of diagonally mounted MOLLE webbing. It allowed the holster to come off easily. I replaced it with a second MOLLE rifle mag pouch to get some more storage out of it. Part of the MOLLE straps on the mag holder don't go all the way through the webbing on the vest there, but there's enough that will fit that I was pleased with the fit.The pistol mag pockets are pretty small. I didn't even try them for pistol mags since I just wanted to be able to put some bars in those pockets. They expanded to be large enough to fit the bars, but only barely. I'm glad they're there, but they're not as big as similar pockets on a full sized vest. The two pistol magazine holders on the belt were too small to be of much use. Perhaps a flashlight (a small flashlight) or a folding pocket knife would be about the right size. There is a velcro patch place under the right shoulder pad area. I didn't buy a patch, but it would be cool to have one someday. The back of the vest opens at the top for a place to put a hydration pouch. I didn't try to see how big it would accept, but I'd guess a 2L one would go in without any problems. The picture of the back of the vest seems to indicate that there is MOLLE webbing on the upper part of the back. This is true, but the webbing goes down the whole of the back. I'll put a MOLLE attachable hydration pouch there but haven't yet.So, my expectations were exceeded. It seems like it could be a fun adventure vest. I don't think the AR mag pouches would be big enough for a radio, but the dual mag 2 pocket addition I added would allow it. The other could be used for other munchies or gear. The only downside to buying this vest is that I expect that it won't be a year before it'll have been outgrown. That said, I'm still glad I got it. I don't remember it being an option, but OD or plain brown might have been nice instead of black.

Made of great quality.
Great quality made product for any kid in your life! This is a child size vest for play time. My son and I are very into nerf guns and participating in nerf gun wars in our community. I wanted to get him something that he could ware to keep extra guns and ammunition but wasn't going to fall apart after using it a few time and this is great for that! The things I liked about this product.1. It is heavy duty, the material that it is made out of is made to last, all the stitches are made correctly and they are very straight! You dont have to worry about this falling apart on you and making the child that you bought this for disappointed.2. I love that there are so many pockets that make the whole thing so useful. Ther eis a pocket for everything on this thing.3. The clips that you have to snap together are great and are very heavy duty. They are hard to snap in place and take apart but at the same time I am just glad that you don't have to worry about the clips coming loose or breaking on you.Things that I didn't like about this product:1. This is the only down side if you are purchasing this for nerf gun wars, you need to know that the magazines do not fit in any of the pockets on the vest. The only gun that you can carry is a 2 shooter that will fit in the spot for the pistol, and maybe a couple one shooters. This does not have big enough slots for the larger guns. I have adjusted the bottom belt to where we can slide one or two into it and it just hangs there for future use.All in all this is a great product, just not intended for the purposes that I needed it for.

Very happy 8 year old
I did not know what to expect when I ordered this and I was positively surprised. There are lots of small, narrow pockets - four on the chest panels and two on the belt. The two pockets on the left chest are slightly wider but not wide enough for our little officer's handcuffs or notebook. There is plenty of room on the belt to fasten an old cuff pouch his uncle gave him. The holster is right handed and not reversible; but our little leftie is so delighted with the vest that he doesn't mind at all. His pretend "oc spray" fits in one of the narrow pockets as does his "tourniquet ". He has cuff keys and disposable gloves distributed among the other narrow pockets. The flashlight fits perfectly in a pocket above the gun and his radio is in one of the (slightly wider) left chest pockets. There is a good sized Velcro patch on the left side and there are lots of loops both front and back for customizing the vest for personal use. He loves that the belt is Velcro fastened just like his uncle's and that there are extra belt keepers included.Out little officer is 68 lbs and the vest is cinched up almost all the way. The vest is as short as it can get.

Fits my 9 year old nephew just fine and gives him a lot of room to grow ...
Fits my 9 year old nephew just fine and gives him a lot of room to grow into it. It possible a younger child might fit into this but 9 is the youngest I could test this on at the moment. The gun holster is my biggest worry as it seems lose when an airsoft gun or a toy handgun is in there. Which means I may have to modify it or give it an extra piece of security measure. Mag holsters seem small and might cause issues at a later day but for now they hold his other gadgets. Will give an update if something changes..Disappointed on how it was shipped, stuffed in a tight bag and then crammed into my mail box.
