I recently had to obtain a urine sample at home for my senior cat and he absolutely refused to use the fake litter the vet provided. I had read about this product and decided to give it a try, and within 1.5 hours my cat used the litter box! I did use all 3 litter packs to make sure there was enough "litter" in our large litter box, but I was easily able to get a clean urine sample to bring to the vet. If your cat won't use the vet-provided fake litter, definitely give this a try!

This product works very well. I found it odd that there are 3 little bags of kitty litter but only 2 test strips. Be sure to read the test strip immediately after the 60 seconds. After a few minutes the strip tends to fade and so you're not getting an accurate reading.

My male cat is skittish and had a persistent UTI. I needed to collect a urine sample for the vet, but the cat would not use the litter box with beads instead of his litter. I ordered this product and it worked quite well. The cat was a little apprehensive at first because it is sand and not the litter that he is used to, but eventually, he evacuated his bladder. The urine really does stand on top of the sand and does not contaminate the specimen. Pips and vials are provided to collect the specimen to take to the vet. I would never have believed it if I had not seen it! I have bought this produce twice and will buy it again if necessary.

This is the only way I’ve been able to get a urine sample from my cats. The first time I used it was with a feral cat that would never be able go to a vet.It appears that the product has improved — it looks more like “real” litter & my 9y.o. tame kitty used it after less than an hour of confining him in a room w/ it. It’s very easy to use the enclosed syringe to draw up the sample. It also helped to have a 2lb bag — a smaller amount is more of a turn-off to cats, especially if u put it into a regular sized litterbox. It’s pricey but worth it. My vet had given me something that looked like little white pearls & there was no way my cat was ever going to use it.

First, the product does work. At its very basic function of what you want it to do, it works. I was able to collect the urine on top. There is a very big but, though. If you are trying to collect a urine sample for the vet to test, and not just use test strips, the product can and probably will interfere with the results because there is a high likelihood of some sediment being collected with the urine. This poses a really big problem when cats are being tested for urinary infections, crystals, etc. My vet tested the sample and we pretty much can't trust the results because of the sediment. Now, we have to go back to using Nosorb and have his urine retested. It's not the product's fault, but it does not work for the testing we needed. In addition, there really isn't a lot for 3 pounds. I thought there would be more but I guess because it's so dense, there's not a lot of product to make up the 3 pounds. I, unfortunately, will not be purchasing this product again.

This stuff is great! My vet had recommended a completely different version of this and my cat refused to pee in it. So I gave this a shot and it still took some time for him to use it. But he finally did. This is much more like regular litter and it fully pooled at the top and was very easy to get the urine sample. This is a great product!
