If you don’t read this whole review, long story short: buy the $18 one and not the $10 one to save money.I bought the small silver one and it did not work out. It didn’t punch a hole at all. Just left an imprint. I even made sure to use a piece of paper/cardboard in between like the listing explains. It also came used. There were scratches on it.I reached out to customer service to try to find out if I was doing something wrong or if it was defective. They got back to me so fast and replaced the silver one with the better black one. I received it, and it works perfectly and so easily. Very happy I went with this company for this product.

Feels like a good solid tool that'll last a while. I don't do much hike punching so I'm hoping this lasts a lifetime.My only complaint is that it took a lot of force to punch a hole in my belt. It's thick high quality leather, and I had to use my body weight instead of my grip strength. So I don't know if another punch would work better or somethings are just harder to punch.

This device works; however, you will need a hammer to punch the holes through. Recognize that my comment may apply to all such devices.

Used for my heel straps and belts. Works great. Although works better with a paper behind the strap. Otherwise won’t punch a hole.

I ordered the Small size to punch extra holes in a few belts. It worked, but it was not the easiest and the holes are not the cleanest. One belt was real leather, and I struggled to punch a hole with this tool. I had to punch a few times from each side of the belt before the tool was able to go all the way through. The other belt was fake leather, and that was a bit easier but it still also took a few times. This may work better on a thinner material. The tool is all metal and with the force you need to use to punch through it’s a bit painful on the hands. I wish there were soft grips on the handles to help with this.

I recently found 45+ leather belts. One problem, they needed cinched up one, or two, more holes. This tool makes a world of difference! I can select the size of the hole by turning the wheel. And, this is very sturdy!I never gave it much more thought, but I have a few purses that could use an extra notch!

It's manufactured wrong. Does not cut a hole. I tossed the wrappings before I used it.

I have just used it to make new holes for my full leather belt. My belt is decently tough and thick and the punch had no issues. It works well for simple tasks. Not sure how it would do on heavier duty tasks (saddles, etc.). It works perfect for what I need it for.

Why is this not something that I have had in my wardrobe for ever. So useful to be able to change the way a belt fits or a bag hangs over my shoulder. It's easy to use and yet sturdy enough to last. Perfect tool for the job!

Easy to use for my watch strap

I bought this not to punch belts, but to make precision holes in small capes / cloths intended for custom Lego minifigures! It has done the job for this stated purpose. Obviously there are more expensive similar products available which are perhaps more comfortable and ergonomic, but this basic metal cast one was all I needed. You can easily change the size of the hole you are making via the rotating wheel and there is a locking mechanism to secure the tool when not in use and being stored. As stated in the directions, adding some paper or thin card underneath what you are punching can help with the precision of the punch and limit any unnecessary damage to the plate underneath. I’m sure this tool will also come in handy if I ever need to punch any holes in leather belts one day!
