This is a really good book. I bought it for a friend who is dyslexic so isn’t keen on reading but is very happy with diagrams. This is full of diagrams, illustrations and photos, keeping the text to a minimum. I’m really impressed and will probably buy it as a present for someone else.

A lovely compact and comprehensive little book.Excellent photos and diagrams on the many aspects of sailing.I think this is probably a great book to refer to even when you have some experience.For an absolute beginner, I found myself wanting a longer and simpler introduction into the basics. As I gain practical experience though, I feel this book will be referred to more and more.

Appears to be comprehensive, and written recently which makes the content more relatable. (A very minor point: The double sheet bend knot instruction sequence seems to be confused and the lorry drivers hitch is unclear/out of sequence)

Straight to the point. If you are new to sailing, this is the one to buy to get started.

Bought as a refresher, ideal book.

I am so very pleased with this book. It lays out the basics of sailing very clearly with easy to understand illustrations. Fantastic resource for dinghy sailing.
