These seats are about 29 years old and were stained pretty bad with mildew. The front seat edges were worn as you can see in the pictures, but the Rust-Oleum vinyl paint made them look new again. I changed the color scheme up a little as you can see. For good results you have to prep the seats. Wash with a good degreaser like Palmolive dish detergent, lightly sand the vinyl seats (I used 200 grit sand paper), wipe the eats down with a clean cloth and spray a semi light coat the first time, let dry and apply a second coat. Make sure all the areas are covered well before removing any masking tape, don't ask me how I know. The paint adheres exceptionally well and covers good. It's flexible, just like the original vinyl. I two toned my seats using grey and charcoal which worked out good, but it adds a lot of time to the project. I'm not expecting it to last another 29 years, maybe it will last a few years until I can afford to get new seats. Very pleased with the results. Approximately 1.5 cans per seat with two coats. While the rustolium is supposed to work, i found that the duplicolor fabric and vinyl worked much better on the visors because it was a bit thinner and absorbed better in the fabric. With the duplicolor The fabric is still more or less the same texture afterward. The rustoleum however gooped up on the fabric because it was thicker and did not penetrate it and looked bad and was not the same texture but now a hard feeling with globs here and there. I ended up deciding on a lighter color grey so went to junk yard to get another set of sun visors and I painted them only with the duplicolor. They cam out the best. So I suggest the duplicolor for all cloth fabrics and rugs and the rustoleum for vinyl and plastic only. **Q: Considering using this on my pop up camper seat cushions instead of reupholstering them. I had sprayed it on the vinyl before recovering the seat & the paint was flexible. I think it might depend on the fabric itself.
