My 20 month old LOVES these cards! They aren't ...
My 20 month old LOVES these cards! They aren't very thick and can be bent so watch your little one with them. Each card has a texture to feel. Just a note- if you buy all of the different sets you will find some words are repeated. There are about 3 or 4 different tractor cards all together as well as a couple of other duplicated words. NONE of the duplicated words have the same picture though, so that is a plus! These cards are very engaging and my son loves working with them. Each card does have some questions on the back and each pack has a card that includes some ideas or tips on using the cards. If they make more sets, I will definitely buy them!

These are a keeper!
Have looked at and bought all different types of cards, they either have no educational value, or the images are bad, or the images are of things that make no sense, or they are not strong enough for a toddler to play with. These are perfect, they are strong and thick, the images are a single specific image with the title below, I LOVE the translations into other languages. My toddler of 16 months loves them and he already knows all the words, I put them on the floor for him now and ask him to pick up the car, the truck, etc, and he goes and gets them for me. I find them extremely fun and educational. 1000 times better than Baby Einstein's which I also own. These are harder for him to differentiate than the "First Words" which we got with these, but I'm sure as he grows up he will be able to know the difference between a firetruck and a truck.

Another great DK product
These flashcards by DK are great. They are far superior to other flashcards on the market - they are very sturdy, the touch n' feel aspect adds a lot of fun to them and the box is also sturdy. No worries about someone stepping on it and destroying it. I also thought I'd never get flashcards for a one year old, but my son loved these from the minute he got them. We spread them on the floor and he'll pick out the card I call for and is so proud of himself. Now that he's older, he'll name them himself and put them in the box one by one. He had always loved the DK books, so seeing the familiar photos on something he could carry around easily really made him happy. We have four sets of these and love them all.

My 1 year old is obsessed!
These are exactly what I was looking for and even better than expected! Beautiful design and very good quality. It's a simple concept but keeps my 18 month old son engaged and gives us lots of things to talk and learn about. I love all of the prompts and info it gives on the back of each card. It is helping us add some Spanish words to our vocabulary! I really can't say enough about these. This will very likely be something I repurchase for gifts for friends and family. A+++

Extremely Satisfied!!!
My 2 year old grandson LOVES these cards!! He plays with them daily, the quality is great, the color is wonderful, the way the colors and items on the cards are set up are done very well!! I have bought every one they have in their set. He has learned every item on the cards, and enjoys going through the cards several times a day. I highly recommend these. Because the quality is so good I will be able to use these for my 2 baby grandsons as well.

Not really anything to touch and feel
I like these cards for the pictures and large letters and think in a few more months they'll be more appropriate for us. For now, he's young and he's really into touching and feeling and these cards don't have anything to touch or feel. Most of the pictures use that sparkle/shiny paper on portions of the object - like the school bus windows are silver shiny paper, the front grill of the car is shiny paper. Out of the 16 cards, 10 have the sparkle/shiny paper as the sensory object and only 6 have an actual texture for touching. But even for the 6 that do have cool texture for touching, they're either duplicate textures (both the sail boat and the hot air ballon use the same fabric) or it covers such a limited space. Like for the bicycle, the seat is a cool bumpy texture but the seat is so darn small so it's not even worth pointing out the texture difference. I like these cards for learning the names of things and as something to toss in my diaper bag for a car ride distraction. But for "touch and feel" these cards fall short.

The cards are nice and sturdy
I originally purchased the "First Words" version of these cards and it was an instant hit with my 15 month old. The cards are nice and sturdy, the colors are bright, and each card has a spot with a different texture or material for your toddler to feel. I love that on the back of each card they have ideas for the adult on how to help your child learn with the cards from suggestions of questions to ask when they are first starting out, working all the way to expanding on spelling related games as they get older, and even going as far as to include translations in Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin if you really want to be that over achiever. I love this because not only does this keep the cards relevant and engaging for your child as they get older, but it gives people with maybe less experience playing with younger children great ideas on how to use these cards. The cards fit nicely in their cardboard enclosure that is secured shut with Velcro, so they are easy to put away or take with you on trips. I agree with others that some of the choices for pictures are not the best (the front photo for the train and car as opposed to a side photo which would help your toddler identify the item a little easier). Also, the textures on these cards are not as nice as the "First Words" cards. Of the 3 sets of cards we purchased, these are my least favorite but 4 stars because my son still really enjoys them for now. Would recommend for an older toddler.

Educational
I'm an elementary teacher who has been teaching preschool, 1st, 4th, and 5th grade for over 10 years. These are excellent flashcards. I love that they are tactile on one side, so my baby can interact while learning. I was so pleased to find questions that prompt teaching incase parents aren't sure what to say. The word is also translated into 4 other languages with pronunciation help! Wow! My daughter is only 10 weeks old, but I'm so glad I ordered them early and will start to use them right away :-)

Excellent
Excellent flash cards. I have been using the whole set with my 19 month old since Xmas and it’s her favourite thing to do. She can recognise all 90 cards! Very good quality. Would highly recommend.

Great for babies
15 month old loves all these card sets. Textures and details add appeal. They are sturdy too. The box is often as much fun as the cards with the engaging Velcro closure.
