Literally "punches" way beyond its price and footprint.
Desktop PC user here, not a gamer BUT if I were, I'd still be satisfied with this $29 purchase, and here's why you should too: 1) Higher Power Output: The Sanyun SW102 is rated at up to 10W total power (5W per speaker), which is significantly higher than the 6W-7W peak power typically found in many (most) similar PC-use speakers. Higher wattage provides more headroom for volume and deeper sound reproduction. 2) Bass Radiator Configuration: The Sanyun uses bottom-firing bass radiators. This design allows the speaker to use your desk surface to reflect and amplify the low-end frequencies, often resulting in a more noticeable bass response compared to the side-firing passive woofers like the Creative Pebble series and others. I tested down to 115Hz. It's punchy and rich. My desk is against a wall. 3) LED can be eliminated: If you're like me and you don't want bling on your desktop, simply pull off the two rubber "legs" from under the bottom plate to reveal two screws, unscrew, take a pair of scissors and snip the bare wire that attaches the LED diodes to the PCB (first time for me so I can say with assurance that it's super easy to do), then reassemble. Do the snip while under power so that you can visually confirm power to the LEDs has been cut. It's a no-risk operation due to the imperceptibly low power going to the speaker from your USB port. 4) Footprint: Unlike so many other desktop speakers, the footprint for each is small and the cord that connects both speakers exceeds four feet, thus you'll have far more potential in terms of placement options. 5) DTS and RealTek Audio drivers: This means you'll have FULL control over sound presentation. I'm running these speakers out of an Asus Prime Z370 motherboard, so I downloaded the latest RealTek drivers which for that board = 2021. It's likely you have more recent MBs. But even as old as my board is, the download brought an outstanding RealTek Volume Mixer as well as the DTS Audio - Headphone X1 software. Both are now available by simply right-clicking the "Sound Settings" menu item. Use of either or both audio drivers brings out the full capabilities of these speakers. You'll have a dedicated equalizer, advanced settings, 3D FX, volume leveling, bass boost, you name it. You'll set it to how you like it. 6) Cost: Cost is no object for me. But all of the more expensive (ergo, or so I thought, expensive = "better") desktop speakers didn't have the footprint, wattage, and/or bass punch-depth combination I had to have. I bought five other speaker pairs, ranging from $12 - $200, and A-B tested. Blindfolded, these Sanyun-branded speakers matched or came so close to, or in some cases exceeded the performance of the others. Those other brands were not objectively $100+ better; not even close. 7) Final thoughts: Everyone's different in terms of what they are looking for. As explained above, I had specific criteria I needed checked off. These Sanyun's checked all my boxes. They did so because I was able to combine them with the audio drivers available. I don't need 30w of power, BUT, the down-firing passive radiating bass ports of Sanyun's design allow me to increase the volume way beyond what I'd ever need for day-to-day use. When I want to let loose and there's no one around to bother, turning it up loud and listening to any music genre via YouTube or Tidal more than satisfies my audiophile-rock brain. I suspect it will satisfy most others too.

Great Sound for a Small Set of Speakers
I picked these up for my work setup after HP decided it was a good idea to put the laptop speakers on the bottom of the laptop. What a difference! These speakers have a surprisingly rich, full sound for their size, with much better volume and clarity than my laptop's built-in speakers. They're compact, easy to set up, and don't take up much desk space. If you're looking for an affordable upgrade for a work computer or laptop, these are an excellent choice.

My new favorite PC speakers
Innate laptop speakers are rarely loud enough (even on my gaming PC) for work meetings, videos, & music. I needed something small, powerful, & fairly priced (I don't need to pilot an aircraft with laptop speakers lol). These speakers can go extremely loud (best to turn volume all the way down before using for 1st time). I had to turn my laptops' volume down to about 30% while the speakers were around 50%. The sound quality is really decent too. There are 4 rubber stoppers/nubs underneath each speaker, so zero rattling against surfaces & they stay in place easily. Their height is very low & I love that. They are shorter than a pen. Their design allows you to stack them on top of each other, for storage or getting them out of the way. For all the wonderful praise I have for these, there are a few negatives; however, none are really bad (I do not regret buying these speakers at all). 1. The same problem many small or general speakers face, when it comes to hearing bass at a high volume, it gives that horrid crackle-rumble sound. But..... these shouldn't be used for parties or needing to project sound extremely far. When using them as intended, they give a lovely sound. 2. Wiring..... so much excess & no built-in method to manage it. My office desk holds both of my laptops & it does become frustrating when moving the speakers. I have velcro wraps somewhere....... 3. Wiring again..... there's no way to disconnect any of the wires; so, you will play a circus juggler to untangle, during unboxing. 4. Volume control placement is a bit awkward. It's about halfway between the Aux plug & the speakers. So if you're like me & bundle all wires behind your PC..... it's not easy to reach/control after setup. Setting the wheel to about 50% gives way more than enough to manage PC speakers with little issue (based on your volume preference you may want even lower). 5. LED lighting. The blue light is pleasing to look at, during the day. Once night comes or the room has lights dimmed, the blue LED becomes a distraction. Especially when speakers are placed to creat MacGyver surround sound. To solve the LED glare...... I use a small stack of paper towels, cut a small & ovular opening in the center, & pull the base through the opening. It covers the LED from all angles, so not much of a hassle for me, when it means the light won't cause issue during videos. I've tried many versions of wired PC speakers (since Bluetooth is not always reliable with other wireless connections) & based on sound quality, potential volume, size, looks, & price...... these have been the best. I've only had them for a short time; so here's hoping they still function well after much time has passed. I'll update if anything goes wrong!

you get what you pay for
they make sound. Sound quality about what you'd expect at the price point works for my purpose which simply just to have sound don't expect concert quality sound.

First set I purchased didn't work but the replacements are great! I personally love the lights on the bottom. Sound quality is perfect for me to listen to music or while on meetings in my office.

Great little speakers
I was a little confused by the Amazon reviews for these speakers. I was looking for a set of small speakers to complement my new desktop pc and very high spec - but speakerless - 27" monitor. The pc will be used mainly for CAD and image processing but I like a little music while I work and I do play the odd driving game. For serious gaming I will use a set of quality headphones but I wanted a set of fairly low cost speakers for casual listening. I have had monster speaker kits for pc in the past but they take up too much room and I end up turning the volume right down to avoid disturbing others anyway so..... just a simple set will do as long as the sound is reasonably good. The Sanyun SW102s looked ideal and most reviews confirmed this. However, there were a few very negative ones including at least one stating that the good reviews were all fake and the product was junk! Well, you always get a few weird reviews (and reviewers) and if they were really junk they would go back to Amazon for a refund - at the price it was certainly worth the risk of minor hassle. Well, the positive reviews were spot on and I really don't know what the negative ones were listening to or expecting. No, they don't sound as good as the Mission speakers in my lounge - but they cost 20 times less! They are perfect for my needs and the sound is actually far better than I expected for the price. They were 'plug and play; I just plugged the power and audio leads into the back of the pc, placed the speakers either side of my monitor stand (so they effectively take up no desk space) and got perfectly adequate sound. Plenty loud enough for music and casual gaming with none of the 'tinny' sound described by some negative reviews and they are silent (to my ears anyway) when no sound is being sent from the pc. I can understand that the blue lights are not to everyone's taste and it would be nice if they could be switched off. However, the fact that they stay on after I close down the pc reminds me that its still using energy and I should really switch off at the wall socket. Delivery was amazingly fast - pretty much next working day - and far earlier than promised. For what they are and what they promise for the price, I can't fault these speakers and the customer service was exemplary.

Colour me impressed
Like most ppl here I ordered based on the reviews. I had low expectations because so many folks just don't have great ears (no offense). Everybody has a different reference for what constitutes good sound quality and loads of folks have expectations when they buy. For me, I needed a cheap set of speakers for my desktop/tower because I had none (just the pathetic internal one). However I should point out that I am a musician and budding audiophile. I am prepared to spend money on good equipment but this was not one of those occasions. All I wanted was for the speakers to not suck. I'm happy to report that they don't. They are surprisingly loud but the advertised bass is not very deep at all. Like 180 Hz at best (low mids anyone?)... Still a vast improvement over laptop speakers and at such a low price, don't hesitate! Note that both the USB and 1/8" plug have to be connected for them to work. You won't power a party with these but you can fill a modest sized room while you are doing chores and boogie down. I tried some response tracks and attempted to "burn them in" a little and hopefully they will loosen up, especially the bass radiators, but I'm not holding my breath. They are not tinny or harsh and produce significant volume without rattles or much hiss. That's impressive for $35. You won't fool any audiophiles but add a cheap subwoofer to cover the missing bottom end and you'd be laughing.

Very attractive speakers
I came across these speakers as I was searching for a pair of white colored ones. My initial choice was the one by Creative, but when I saw this came with blue lights, I ordered it immediately and only read the reviews after placing my order. Arrival was very quick, the next day! (Thank you seller for your excellent service!) I set them up immediately and like the very clear mid to treble range sound. The bass seems underpowered, but unless you really prefer a huge bass type, this speakers are more than adequate. I game quite a bit and listen mostly to classical music, so it's good at this price. There's a volume control which I set to maximum, and I use my keyboard's control to adjust and the volume has quite a huge range from very soft to very loud. Like one reviewer said, you cannot turn the blue lights off, but this isn't a problem at all as it looks very good. If you are looking for a nice looking pair of speakers with really clear sound this is it!
