Not individually wrapped
My usual tea is Twinings English Breakfast but my new favorite is Assam tea so I was excited to try Twinings. The taste is fine but I was disappointed that the bags are not individually wrapped to make keeping it in a canister easier.

Very good, very strong malty tea
Very strong, malty tea. I really like it, but if you prefer a Darjeeling or Oolong, it might be too strong.

Delicious Tea
This is a very strong, flavorful (yet not bitter) tea which makes a fantastic breakfast drink. I have been very pleased with this Twinings version which is not commonly available in the USA. Serve with milk and perhaps some sugar. Makes a great, lighter alternative to coffee.

I Love this tea
Ok so I moved to England where coffee is not a basic human right (but tea is) and I looked all over the place for decent coffee and then gave up. And then I started drinking tea, cause that's what you do when you don't have coffee, and my British mate introduced me to this amazing tea that is the closest thing to coffee that I have ever drank (besides coffee of course). It tastes more like coffee than Hickory coffee from LA. I then moved back stateside and now I want to drink this tea, because when you drink too much coffee that you feel your pupils twitch and you feel that your still need to write a few more pages of whatever you are doing you just have to drink something else. Where was I, right! I looked everywhere in town and could not find this tea so I turned to the net and I bought it really cheaply (two boxes) online. Only when it arrived did I realized that I bought it from some shop in Sweden! Sverige! (that's Sweden in Swedish). Well The tea is fresh and everything is great. I have no idea what kind of money laundering operation I am enabling by buying cheat tea from Sweden but it works for me. I am now on my last box and its about time to get Sven to send me some mo'!

Twining Assam tea
I discovered this tea while on a queen Mary 2 trans Atlantic voyage. I usually drink English breakfast tea, but this was a very robust, tasty and delightful tea, which I now have added to my daily tea drinking ritual. I prefer it straight with a small amount of sugar, sans milk. A wonderful afternoon treat.

320 Assam teabags for ยฃ14 What a bargain!
I do like a good cup of tea and recently have moved away from the mass market brands, such as the one with the monkeys and the one with the little men from Yorkshire who live in a tea pot to some of the more upmarket brands. Not that I'm being snobby or anything its just that sometimes the quality can be a bit variable. Yes, I know that Twinning is part of Associated British Foods, the same company that owns British Sugar and, bizarrely, Primark, but it comes over as being more sophisticated and better quality than most of the others. I have tried quite a few of the others too ranging from the cheapo supermarket own labels to some of the more exclusive products that come in fancy boxes with quirky names. Of all those I have tried, I have settled on Twinings Assam as my absolute favourite morning tea, and by that I mean tea that you drink in a cup with a splash of milk when you wake up rather than the green teas or herbal infusions you might have in the evening or after a meal to cleanse your palate. This Assam tea is the business. It is strong tasting without being overpowering and is malty and rich. And buying it in this format of 4 x 80 bag boxes = 320 tea bags for ยฃ14 works out at less than 4.4p per cup which is actually LESS than you would pay for an inferior product. And each box contains foil sealed inner packages too so the tea will not go off too quickly. The sell by date on the boxes I purchased were over a year from the date of purchase too which means that as long as I average more than 0.9 cups per day (which I am sure I will) then they will not have gone off before I finish the boxes. This is an excellent, and cheap, way to buy and excellent tea. As long as you have sufficient storage space this is a winner.
