Pretty amazing. So small you can put it i.n a shirt pocket. Sound is fine for news and casual listening, but is what you should expect from the small size. Pretty decent. Quality seems good. No issues with mine after many months. Good for the price and happy with mine.

The five stars is for functionality. I wouldn't compare it to a five star high-end radio, but for what it is, for what it does, for what it costs, it is great.My husband, 85, was in a rehab unit recovering from a repaired broken hip. He wasn't doing well and he really needed something to get grounded. He listens to our local NPR every morning and he needed that. The rehab unit was just sort of ignoring him and treating him like he was going to be a permanent patient – he wasn't I got him home and he's doing great. But this really helped with his rehab because part of it is getting his brain working after a devastating surgery on top of chemo. The red is perfect because it minimize his loss in a massive hospital sheets, and I clipped it onto a badge holder so he could have it around his neck or wrap it around the bed's siderails. The sound was fairly crisp and clear, and the Battery Life was just great. I even took in a set of over the ear headphones because his hearing is terrible. It would last all day and then I would recharge it the next day when I went in.I had originally tried a "better" radio but he just couldn't figure out the digital display and push buttons. This is a straightforward on-off switch and I had preset it to 88.5 so he didn't have to fiddle with that. All he had to do was switch it on and off. And the volume is a dial. Very low tech for him.Even without the headphones, it had decent volume and sound clarity. We didn't try it with music, we only wanted it for NPR.

For its small size this unit delivers good sound. FM radio is great and a good charge lasts days and days even if I play the radio all day. I like the fact that while the unit plays it turns off the display and only shows a little TF or FM LED. This saves on battery life. However a TF card loaded with MP3 music plays fine one day. Next day the unit doesn't recognize the flash card and reverts to radio mode. This is why I only give this unit 3-stars instead of 5.Update: Jan 7 2024. I've had this radio for a few years. It works great with a 64 GB card. Half the card is filled with MP3 music. The other half for recording. This little radio is a tough beast. I can punch in any local frequency and hear clear radio. I use it every day in the bathroom as I shower. Records well. Great for travelling. This thing is like a retro radio-cassette recorder, except you can record 2000 hours instead of 60 or 90 minutes and the recorded sound quality is way better than cassettes were. The radio is mono, not stereo. Updating from 3 to 4 stars.

Purchased this a year ago.A lot of reviews for products on Amazon, are comparing Product A to a higher priced Product B. But this is a $10 dollar radio. That needs to be remembered. Not a $100 dollar radio.So for this price point, it seems like a great radio.For this price, it is very good. Feels solid, and looks great.The sound seems very good. There is no Bass or Treble adjustment. This radio does have a volume control wheel, which is more handy than button adjustment. A nice feature.This is also a FM ONLY radio. It does that job well.I actually bought it for it's ability to record FM radio. The included instructions are ok, could be better, but most of the radio is intuitive.For recording, it seems to do that fine. No adjustments for bit rate. But the audio is clear.I am using it to record my SiriusXM Home Radio. I use a FM broadcaster (bought off of Amazon.com), then I use this little radio to record the SiriusXM. Seems to work well.Finally, in the product answers to questions (here on Amazon) it states that the TF CARD limit is a 32GB card. But I inserted a 64GB TF Card that was laying around the house, formatted it for Fat32 and it seems to be working. We will see. Well, I did have some problems and put in a 32 GB card, as per instructions.The Radio will also play mp3 files. So you can use it as an inexpensive mp3 player.The radio is small. One interesting design, is the FM radio Antenna is actually the "carry strap".Really for the money, its a great value. FM Radio, MP3 Player, Radio Recorder, and it appears, also a voice and sound recorder (haven't verified that yet).The volume can be set very loud. I have updated this a year after the purchase. I still love it. It is a great radio recorder. That is mainly what I use it for. To record Radio. Christmas Music, Talk Shows, News, and my XM Radio Receiver programs. Seems to me, every rating for this product ought to be a 5 star!If you want a little FM Radio or MP3 player, with FM Recorder (there are not many of those around for this price) for under 20 Bucks, this seems to be a great deal.I plan on using it to record favorite programs for listening to later.I think it is a good value for the money.

Its advantages include: Digital tuning. You can place the radio exactly on frequency instead of fiddling with mechanical tuning. This can be so important if you are in an area dense with many stations, or if you are tuning in one of the 2000 LPFM stations in the U.S. They have great programming but a less powerful signal and reduced range. Yet tune them in easily. Also, it has no AM, so this radio does not need the usual internal AM antenna and thus is much smaller. (Who listens to AM anyway, it's just political hooey and foreign languages now.) So in this Prunus J-328 radio the antenna is the lanyard instead of the old telescoping antenna that bends and breaks off. You can also record stations with a Micro SD card (the manual calls this a TF card. It is the same thing). All together I think it is a good value for little money.

RECORDING PURITY DECLINES OVER TIME.It's a great little radio and gets clear reception. All the other 5 star reviews are right about is great points. I do love this little recorder and have bought 2 of them. However, after about 3 years of moderate use on the weekends, the recordings started getting this ticking-static sound. The live radio is clear, but hit REC and the tic-static starts. I'm not particularly rough with devices so it's not that is broken. AND I can't scrape the integrated sound out with audio tools. No real answers to fix it. But it's such a good recorder that my solution is to just buy a new one.This time I'm getting a red one.

Although the sound is good, I couldn't get used to finding stations and locking them into the memory so I could find them later. Too much of a hassle for me so I sent it back.

I have been a fan of radio all my life. It’s like you hear a song some time on a radio station that you might have kind of liked but not so much to buy the album and it triggers a memory. Then nowadays you can download the track on your phone. Radio is underrated anymore. I still like to listen to college stations. The only problem I had was first navigating how to use this device. What I think it does is scan all local channels in the area. So yeah I am still a little unsteady on how to use the device. I will be taking it with me to a trip to the Midwest and see how it works out there. The device either didn’t come with good directions or I lost them. The battery life is good and it charges over night. Anyway I would recommend this device to any radioheads.

First of all, this is a legit review -- I bought this on my own without any freebies etc. I just wanted a compact radio to play here and there around the house. So this item was under 30 bucks, and I figured I wouldn't lose too much if it turned out to be a let down. There were plenty of others at twice the price, mediocre reviews. This one had good reviews, but I figured those were probably green fielded reviews (fake).Nope. This radio is really cool! The tuning selection is direct push button instead of dial, so it is quick dead on, and there is no station drift -- it stays locked on.The sound is crazy good for a little device this size. Of course it is not for dancing to, but the sound is clear, crisp, full, and has the depth of a desktop radio of similar type.But it fits easily in a pocket (a little wider and thicker than a pocket memo recorder), and it fits easily in a jacket chest pocket, with room to spare.The build is solid and well finished, and the device adds radio recording, voice recording, and microSD file play on top of the radio.Battery does not last as long as AAAs in a similar radio; but then again, this one is rechargeable via USB in a little over an hour (I think). It goes for a decent amount of time (I am guessing about 6 - 10 hours, depending on volume). But then again there is obviously a decent little amp driving a good speaker in there, so the relative high fidelity is worth the extra current draw (it is a 3W amp... pretty good). I also only recently bought the radio, and since lithium batteries sometimes need a few charge cycles to reach full capacity, it may improve.To sum up, I don't normally write reviews because I am busy and lazy, but this item is so good I wanted to let others know it's worth buying. This would make a very good gift for someone travelling, working in an office, using it with headphones around town, on the bathroom counter in the morning (not waterproof though...), for young people's birthdays etc., party favours, and so on. And get one for yourself they're great and not too expensive.This little radio is simply very good quality, and a pleasant surprise to use.

Good sound quality, perfect size

I got this radio a few days ago, and submitted it to a lot of use to find problems before the returning window closes. So far I have been very happy with this product. All the functions work well, and the speaker is surprisingly clear for the size. Of course for the music is better to use auricular, such a small speaker can't possibly have enough bass, but for voice and radio is perfect. Will it last? Time will tell, but it seems to be solidly built.
