LavaLock Flat top Griddle Grate for UDS 55 Gallon Drum Smokers Grill Plate Also fits Weber Smokey Mountain 22" WSM and Kettle Thick Steel with Handles

I purchased this griddle to expand my kettle grill's capability. The griddle was flat upon on arrival and I have not experienced any rocking or flatness issues. It is very substantial and robust. The griddle nearly fills my 22 inch kettle cooking area, with only a 1/4 inch gap around the circumference. The handles are a great feature to facilitate rotation or removal. Heat management is a learned skill, but it heats uniformly while maintaining cooking heat. When the griddle arrived it did have some light surface scratches and residual manufacturing dirt, but no rust. No big deal. It's an entry level griddle made from sheet metal sheet and not a high end restraunt piece of equipment. I quickly honed the cooking surface with a glass pumice block to soften scratches and give a matte appearance; necessary, no but it was my preference. I included a photo on the initial cook and the appearance after a little use. I would recommend this griddle if you like to cook outdoors. It will not fit in a standard size oven. It is a great addition to a kettle grill or an ugly drum smoker (UDS). Lavalock makes good products and my experience with their customer service has been excellent.

Love this thing. Easy to use, easy to clean, durable, even heat. I use mine on a Weber charcoal kettle grill and it's perfect for smashburgers, sauteed onions, eggs, bacon, and everything else I've thrown at it so far! The handles are a little strange, but they work fine and don't really get in the way as much as I thought they would.

As soon as it arrived I noticed several gouges on the top surface and some surface rust on the handles. I then tested fitment on my Weber to see if it fit and if it was flat and straight or not, it was wobbling right out the package. I then tested my 3 other grill grates to make sure a grill tab wasn't bent and they had no wobble. I decided I would just live with it and I seasoned it and stored it away. I then used it once for cheesesteaks and made sure to not use the grill lid and it still warped even further. Of course, by then the return window was up. It is thin, overpriced and lacking heavily in quality control. It was a bad purchase and I feel ripped off.

It's a fantastic concept. However, I wish it could sit up higher and avoid the sides of the grill. Despite being sunk down It's a fun new addition!

Great griddle. Fits 22” Weber kettle perfectly. The griddle comes with light packing grease. Came off easily with 2-3 passes with hot water and blue dawn. The handles are very helpful and make it easy to move. The steel is 3.6mm thick, which is about .6mm thicker than a heavy carbon steel kitchen pan. I seasoned with a VERY light coating of canola oil and 10 minutes with the air intakes open. Good overall value when paired with a cheap kettle grill.

First time using the bacon was a bit crispier than I liked as I was not expecting it to be cooked that fast! Then the griddle was seasoned. I have made smash burgers, pancakes, bacon, chicken, stir fry....love it! I am going to try a pizza on it soon! I keep it on the Weber Master Touch grill, and took out the standard grill. Feature request: I wish there was a way to fit it on top of the existing grill (slot holes) that way everything can stay inside of it. other than that I am VERY pleased!

Pretty much warped the first time I used it. Not great. It would also be a better value if you I used the drip pan.

This griddle top fits nicely in my Weber kettle and should last a lifetime. The only issue I have is that there isn’t any slot to push cooing debris etc off the griddle. This isn’t a deal killer but it would have been a nice feature!
