Lightweight Grivel GZERO Ice Axe 74 for Classical Alpinism, Black

Used last weekend. It was great. Nice weight and did it's job.

Took this to Mt Hood in Oregon and it worked great paired with an ice tool. Very lightweight, but also very trusty. Used this for self arrest quite a few times and it always stopped me from sliding off the mountain! Tall enough for me to use almost as a trekking pole in some areas, and at a great price, you can't beat it!

This was my first ice axe, and Im totally pleased with it. It's very light but also very sturdy. Feels well built. Spike cap on the leash was nice. No worries of falling and sticking myself. My hiking partner has a Petzl and actually kept commenting on how much he liked my Grivel. Worth every penny.

I have used this axe all over the PNW, from Rainier to the North Cascades, and it's a great. Very light and nice l balance. I have a Black Diamond Venom, but honestly I generally go back to this Grivel axe for soft, snowy climbs. I'm 5'9 and have the 66cm and it's perfect, but the 74 would be fine too. I recommend this axe for classic mountaineering.

Decent ice axe. Feels a little flimsy. Good as a stabilizer though on glacier/permasnow

Purchased a pair of these for daughter and I to scale mile long steep snow filled couloir. The snow was 1-3’ deep so the classic long length of these axes made the difference securing us in mushy to firm snow. Their very light too.

Took this on a summit climb up Mt. Algonquin and it did the job nicely. Helped me motor through some ice sections and some areas that were steep with very little traction.

En este caso, el modelo más cercano sería el de 58. Para el piolet de 74cm, se supondría una persona más alta de 1.93m; obvio los italianos son altos y por eso ofrecen estos tamaños. Este piolet es para marcha en glaciar plano o pendientes muy ligeras. Actualizaré reseña en cuanto lo use.

Piolet muy ligero, básicamente para utilizarlo en glaciares y como apoyo en pendientes con nieve dura. No es técnico. Lo he comprado para mi hijo.
