This is the best book on fish and shell fish I’ve ever purchased. The book covers preparation and a multitude of fish and shellfish. The receipes are fantastic and are written to where you can add your own creativity.

The best book ever written on determining quality, determining freshness, purchasing, selecting, keeping, preparing, filleting, cooking and serving fish. He is not afraid to tackle the more uncommon fish, too. Hands down - Don't look elsewhere. I have many books in fish and this is the bible. High Quality. Well edited. If you like fish, a bit ........and want to know more, get this book. It will change your eating habits forever. Can be used by experienced professional chefs - as well as ordinary guys who cook, like me.

The book is great. Beautiful layout, pictures and mouthwatering recipes. The only problem is the book arrived with the spine coming loose...

A fantastic fish recipe book. My son is quite an advanced cook and loves cooking fish dishes. He said he found a lot of helpful tips in this cook book.

Great fish cook book

An excellent cookbook for those who fear fish. Encyclopedic in its range. Many options of fish types for each recipe. Well organized but most importantly, the first five recipes we tried, we loved. This usually never happens even with the best of cookbooks.

Fish is a major part of my diet, but after getting a bit bored with my overused fish recipes, I decided to buy a fish cookbook. I did however, not know that it was going to be that hard!!! I mainly eat fish from the North-Atlantic, but most cookbooks seem to focus mainly on fish living in warmer waters, salmon and other farmed fish, or the recipes are just way too much disguising the taste of the fish. I find that Rick Stein's cookbook contains more recipes containing fish from the waters around the UK and that are easily sourced here, plus that for each recipe he has captured recommended substitutes in case you cannot get hold of the fish in the recipe. The recipes are easy to follow and they are normal, in the sense that most of the contain ingredients that you can get in your local grocery store. Finally, in the beginning of the book there is a huge section about the different fish types and how to prepare them, with illustrations. Love it!

I have bought 2 pieces of Rick Stein cookbook and looking fwd to buy more. Unfortunately not available in Amazon SA. If you are obsessed about food, one should have it. Besides the recipe, it teaches you of its origins and adventure he has gone through in obtaining them. Feeling like I’m travelling wt him.

Great descriptions on how to prep fish and detailed info about the different kinds. Love that with every recipe it shows alternative kind of fish that can be used.
