I use it under this space saver high chair. There is a dining room area but I put the dining room table in the basement so he could use that area as an independent play place. He doesnt always eat in the high chair, it depends on the food but if it is rice, or pasta, or soup, or something messy and he feels like doing it himself and practicing with the utensils, I put him in the chair and put this mat underneath. Then he can be with us, in the livingroom, on the carpet. When he is done eating I open the front door and shake out the splat mat over the lawn. I really enjoy not having to pick individual grains of rice out of the carpet which turn into tiny foot daggers if they harden overnight. It comes with a matching smock but we haven't used that yet. He won't even wear a bib anymore. The quality is good. It's thick. I use it on carpet but the backside is rubbery nubs so it would probably be slip resistant on tile or wood floors too. I can foresee having this mat throughout the preschool years. I could use it for underneath art projects, etc.

I like that the fabric is thick. On the other hand the seam in the arms of the wearable bibs is a little tight.

I love love love this. The mat and smock are just adorable and super functional. Now we always take the mat to the park with us, and it's so easy to machine wash as well. It's thick, non slip, easy to clean and large enough for me and baby to sit on when playing. The smock actually fits well too! I had some previously that were way too big in the arms.

Cute, easy to use and clean, but the cuffs are too small. I could get my baby's hand through but worried it might be too tight.

This mat and smock bib are great for feeding my daughter. She really likes to toss spoons and play with purees, so the mat keeps my floor from getting destroyed any time we feed her. The elastic around the sleeves in the bib is great too and helps to minimize outfit changes for the day. Super easy to clean.

I own a few splatt mats and this one is by far the highest quality. I use it under a highchair to protect my rug, on the floor as a play mat, and outside on grass as a picnic blanket. It's not absolutely water proof but it is water resistant and easy to clean in the washing machine. Between washes I just shake it out. Non-slip backing is better than others I've encountered and the design (llamas) is gorgeous. It's not as thick as one designed specifically for tummy time, but that's a good thing because it's less likely to bunch up under chairs

I love how thick the Matt is. We have carpet in our dining room so this helps to protect from stains! The machine washable material is really nice with such a busy schedule with a baby! I would recommend this to other parents.

Really adorable design, quality stitching, easy to clean and just big enough to catch most of the flying food! Colors as shown and bib is super handy for eating and artwork!!!

love this mat, saw someone else use it as a travelling play mat for their baby, and it was such a great idea, easy to fold put in luggage and stroller or back pack, goes on any surface wont move,, easy to clean with a wet wipes...highly recommend.

I just received my package and the matching smock is not in the box. Upsetting as the material for the splat mat is nice so I would have liked to keep this, but considering the cost and missing smock, I will be returning.EDIT: I emailed their customer service (off the box) and they’ve rectified the matter by processing a partial refund, as the smock isn’t sold separately. I’ll be purchasing another brand of smock, but happy with the splat mat as the material is nice. As other reviewers mention, it’s also great for outdoor use for picnics or a play mat.

Love this. The apron is perfect for covering bub at dinner time and the mat is great to sit the high chair on. Also, the non slip bottom of the mat is great. Machine washable means it's easy to clean up after meals.

I really love the design of all their bibs I just hope they won't stain too much over time 😁The floor protection is quite large, so I folded it at home. But better too big than too small! Easy to vacuum and is water repellent. I like it, because I am a neet freak.
