Technics AZ70WE Premium True Wireless Earbuds, with Noise Cancelling and Bluetooth Functionality - Black

I’d had technics kit back in the eighties and nineties and it never failed to impress me with its quality and sound. These wireless headphones are just the same! At roughly half the price of the Sennheiser TWM2 they are an absolute steal! Having had the Sennys I can definitely say the sound stage on the Technics are just as good, if not warmer. The sound quality is fantastic and the equaliser far superior. The ANC is vastly superior and the ambient sound is way more natural and less digitised. These functions can be adjusted to find the right level for you, so not just ON/OFF, they are adjustable! However the battery life is neither poor or earth shattering. It’s middle of the road hence 4 stars. They are not perfect but they are very close indeed for me. If Technics could make it so you can change the button functions around then that would be the icing on the cake. Ear fit is very good too although I did use other ear tips which fit my ears better. But that is just a personal thing. They don’t give me ear fatigue like my Sennheisers do. Technics give you a good selection of tips to try. The box and presentation is very slick too. The charging cradle feels slightly flimsy but looks very smart indeed. They don’t have Aptx support, but that’s not a massive thing for me, AAC sounds very good indeed. Also the Bluetooth is 5.0 and not 5.1, but the connection is solid and the buds are independent and not a master and slave set up. IPX4 too, so a few drops of rain won’t faze you. So to sum up: Excellent sound stage + EQ Look good So-so battery life Superior ANC Comfortable fit Slick cradle Not so good: Unable to customise button taps Bluetooth 5.0 No Aptx support All in all I rate these over the Sennheiser TWM2 on value for money and quality. *UPDATE* I had noticed over the course of 5-7 days even if the charging cradle had a full charge my headphones might be very low charge and the cradle with no charge left in it. I phoned Technics 3/2/21 and they informed me that this will happen if they are not used and left on the side, the charge will dissipate. I'm also guessing the cold evenings/ days we have had whilst I'm at work have not helped with retention of charge. So besides that the only thing to add is a new firmware which addresses the fact you can now customise the touchpads. So now fully customisable and this makes them more of match now for the Sennheiser TWM2!

I wanted a very good sounding in-ear matching my other cans (AKG K712 pro, Sennheiser PXC-550II). As an audiphile for about 40 years, this is a real challinge with in-ears.... I tried the following ANC in-ears: - Sony WF-1000XM3 (telephone function unusable, nerdy high power blinking, HUGE box) - Panasonic AZ-W500 (same as this one, but smaller case & 8mm instead of 10mm driver) - Apple Ipod Pro (way too low vol. on androids with no AAC) Strengths: - best sound of all, easily fulfils AUDIPHILE requirements: clear, neutral, VERY differentiating, unbelievable punch, true deep bass, but no frequencies overdone, especially not the bass (I can't stand such headphones). Very pleasant listenoing over hours with no mental hearing fatigue. I also bought a closed headphone upgrade and would say this in-ear is on par with the best closed & neutral wireless and wired cans around 200-300 GBP (Sennheise PXC-550 II, Sennheiser Momentum 3, Yamaha MT HPH-8, Austrian Audio X-55, the like). I tend to believe this is due to the exceptional driver size (10mm diameter means almost double the area than the usual 7mm ones). - good-looking, including the case - Correctly implemented SBC codec. Other than Apples Ipod Pro (way too muted on SBC-only phones) - One of the best ANC algorithms, adjustable in 100 steps. On par with the SOny, better than Airpod Pro - long play time (6.5h) - 5 different pairs of silicone tips , instead just 3 with apple. Weaknesses: - comport is only medium. Most likely it's possible to improve with foam tips or by applying a pair of apple ipad air pads (may require removing the sound tubes...). Reason: As with all in-ears other than the Ipod Pro's they have a stiff audio tube over which the silicone earpiece is placed. The tube's stiffness leaves only little place for adaptation to the ear. Apple did this way better: their tips are mounted ONLY at their base. The whole height is left for adaptation. Also, the edge of the tips are quite sharp instead of gently rounded, so this adds to uncomfortable stiffness in that area. - No AptX codec, neither AptX nor the HD or LL (low latency) variant - price/value: very expensive (very good if you get a used one for 170 GBP or so) - Lacks any innovative features : no HD codecs, no real headphone eq (e.g. Morphit or sonarworks mobile), no new-style tips (like apple) - box is too large, 1/3rd is empty space between the protruding pods -

I'm no expert when it comes to audio, but I've owned many pairs of headphones over the years so I can compare the sound to what I've owned in the past and what I currently run on my main listening setup. I originally bougbt a pair of CX400bt Sennheiser true wireless earbuds but really disliked them so I got them returned and instead bought these. The main issues I wanted fixing from the CX400s was the scratchy plastic with the hard edges, awful touch controls, and oversized casing that didn't fit under a motorcycle helmet. These technics fixed all those issues and then gave me something new too. The sound is so much cleaner and wider than the CX400s. I'm so glad I made the swap, even though these are a pinch more expensive it was still worth it. The unboxing experience was lovely. No advertising the product on the box when I've already bought it. High quality closed-cell foam holding it all in place and super tighly cut card and paper; must've been expensive for them to make this box. No plastic either which is great to see!! The noise cancelling is ok. It's nice that it's adjustable but it's always going to fall behind overear headphones with ANC. However theyre not bad and I often use them as earplugs by just having ANC on with nothing playing. The app these use isn't cluckly and full of rubbish which is great from a users point of view and it's easy to change the settings. The charging case is really nice. Made of aluminum on the outside and soft touch plastic on the inside. Charge times are fairly average but the playback time is above average (from my experience). I spent a Saturday washing both our cars and my motorcycle which took a total of 6 hours (I do everything from prewash to two stage polishing) and they didn't run out of battery. All in all, so happy I swapped these for the CX400s (which also have 0 support from Sennheiser once the Amazon return period expires, I still have another pair waiting to return). Definitely worth trying out if you're looking for a decent pair of above average quality earbuds.

Choosing a set of wireless earbuds from all the customer and expert reviews is bewildering and made all the more difficult by being unable to try before you use, for understandable reasons. My selection criteria is based on sound quality (but I’m not an obessessive), comfort & fit (they must stay in my ears and feel natural) and ease of use. All the reviews, for those lucky enough to have a budget at or around £100 - £150, point towards the Cambridge Melomania 1 and Sony WF 1000XM3 earbuds. Tough choices. I rejected the Melomanias because of feedback with fit and sound leakage, something I always struggle with. All the reviews reference their value and quality for their price which made me think spend a bit more then to improve on the Melomanias’ sound quality. Looking at the Sonys, they look big for most ears and get rave reviews from What HiFi whose best buys never seem to live up to my expectations or other people more knowledgeable about hifi than me (always talk to people in stores and look at what they use personally - if they give you a bum steer, they lose custom). All of the earbuds available here on Amazon and elsewhere attract some negative reviews, just to ramp up the complexity of it all. These Technics earbuds came at or about the top of several expert reviewers’ short lists and I’m a long standing fan of their hifi separates and turntables. Their technical guidance for this product and their performance is truly excellent so I was impressed, they also looked and appeared to be carefully made to be discrete in your ears and a good fit. Hey presto, click, purchase. They look fantastic and worth the price, set up was easy and plenty of guidance on how to get the best from them. Technics try really hard to deliver and satisfy their customers and the sound quality, having worked through some tried and tested favourite tracks, was impressive. However..... I struggled repeatedly to get a good fit and get the earbuds sealed and fixed in my ears so the glorious sound only lasted a frustratingly short time for me. I put that down to my physiology and shape of my ears and it’s not a criticism of these buds. And I tried various ear tips, including others I use on other devices, but failed to get a secure seal and consistently good sound from them. The more pressing concern was that with the constant fiddling and adjustment I was making to maintain sound quality and a good seal in my ears, I was continually triggering one of the functions on the body of the eartips of which there are several so I kept skipping or pausing tracks etc and ruining my listening. That could be my clumsiness and sausage fingers but it was a constant source of frustration. Another thing to watch out for are the sound settings and equaliser functions. Personally, I hate having too many options because the pleasure of earbuds is to relax, switch off and enjoy a great listen during some quality time. Everything becomes familiar and easier with practice but I don’t want to have to tinker with an app or anything else to configure the sound. Perhaps the simplicity and apparent audio excellence of the Melomanias is what makes them winners and I found the Technics too over technical and complicated after plenty of trial and error. Unfortunately, I really could not live with them. As ever, the key to finding the right earbuds is successfully combining a series of highly personal factors and tastes. These Technics buds did n’t work for me but at the right price and for someone prepared to master their functionality, they could prove to be a great buy. Not for me unfortunately.

update Feb 27 2021: New firmware update and you can now map all of the touch sensor actions independently in ear bud so 8 functions to map Nd they do everything straight from the buds, really excellent, also call quality is improved and background nipoise is reduced more than it was previously, the sound on these is just fantastic with a sounds age for Bluetooth earbuds that is incredible. I would add a + to my 5 stars if I could after this update. One they are improved, 2 they are obviously keeping developing and improving the, so pleased I bought these. After a week or so of burnin these are sounding better than my Sennheiser mk2’s. The lows are more expansive, staging is wider, the air chamber gives them an airy open sound, I am extremely impressed. When I first started using them they sounded alright maybe for the 159 I’d paid but nothing special. After a month and swapping back and forth, different eq settings I have to admit they do sound better than my Senns. Doubt anyone will admit it as it’s the rule that the Senns are the BEST AUDIO but there you go just my personal view. Comfort is excellent with replacement tips, ANC is very good if properly inserted so the logo is horizontal,in your ear which is super important for sound as well. Really enjoy listening to these, don’t use my Senns much any more, these have independent buds, better battery life per charged bud. Dont misunderstand I still think the Senns are fantastic, technics also come for a very high quality pedigree so it’s no wonder they sound so good. PS DONT FORGET TO BURN THEM IN 🙂

I bought this product 4 weeks ago, and was initially delighted with it. The buds are extremely well made, and sound superb, however just over a week after setting up and fully charging the buds, they had lost all of their charge. I thought this might be an oversight on my part, so I checked that the buds were auto turning off (there is an option to override this), and fully charged them again. A week later however, they were flat again. Checking online, it seems as if this is a problem for other users, so I contacted the seller to explain the issue, and ask for a refund. The seller replied that the buds were fine, that all electrical items lose charge over time, and claimed that the Technics rep had told him that this was 'normal behaviour'. I replied that this could not possibly be normal behaviour, that electrical items *do* lose charge over very long periods of time, but that discharging in just over a week was completely abnormal (no product I have ever owned has done this) I also explained that it made the product unusable and not fit for purpose, since either the buds would need to be plugged in permanently, or (re-)charged every time I wanted to use them. (I do not use the buds every day.) I returned the product to the seller (within the statutory 30-day period), explaining again that they were faulty, and that therefore by law I was entitled to a full refund. The seller rejected this, claiming again that there was no problem with the buds, and that this was normal behaviour. He also argued that as the buds had been opened and showed signs of use, he would not give me a full refund. To date however, I have received no payment, not even a partial refund. I am now pursuing this with Amazon, and through legal means if necessary, but I would recommend against buying these buds, or indeed against buying anything else from this seller.

Good design, high quality, the sound is great but need to play with the equaliser. The noise cancellation is the greatest, in my opinion even away better than the Sony mx4. I would highly recomanded this device.. but go with the newest version, the z60 as it's available at the same price. For the company R&R. Congratulations, and well done.. As I wish to be always the best I would suggest the following: 1- size, fit, and weight need to be further optimize 2- consider in ear sensor for better power consumption 3- multi connection plus wireless charging 4- your loop/feed back control system applied for noise cancelling is great (actually I was about to develop this), at this stage try additional filtering/ try different controlers, and higher frequency to improve the feedback response. (Try this hint 'signal prediction'). 5- there is strong 'hesss' white noise associated with the NC, this need to be filtered. 6- you must see the ID optization in the liberty 3 application All the best,

I have only had these for two days, but i have to say i am very impressed.I returned the Sony xm3's.Because the battery life suddenly just dropped like a stone 90 minutes on a full charge!!!.Also the right earbud kept loosing bluetooth connection.These problems were not there in the beginning and was very happy with them for the first month.So i was left with a choice to replace like for like.Or go for a different pair. I chose to replace them for the Technics AZ70WE. And i am so glad i id these are absolutely great for me. The minimalist design is class.The product feels premium in everyway to me.The set up is easy, just download the Technics app and follow the instructions, took maybe a minute or two. But is the sound that is absolutely top draw, bright clear punchy, good bass without being muddy, and i would say the soundstage is in a class of its own at this price point. The ANC works great, just make sure you use the right ear tips size!.I used the ones straight out the box and i was disappointed, then i swapped for the bigger eartips and BOOM job down. I know people say that they are expensive but i think for me they are worth every penny.

auricolari fantastici ma non privi di difetti, non sono auricolari tutto fare, sono un po ingombranti e non adatti per l'uso sportivo , ma hanno un sound paragonabile ad una cuffia over ear cablata . un prodotto da usare a casa quando si vuole ascoltare musica ad alto livello

Écouteurs Technics au top. Je voyage souvent en avion et la réduction du bruit (paramétrable par l'application) est vraiment très efficace au point d'arriver à faire totalement abstraction du bruit extérieur. Je ne regrette pas cet achat !

Für klassische Musik geht's mit mobilen Devices derzeit wohl kaum besser. MINUS: Minderwertige App. --- NOTWENDIGES ZUBEHÖR: FOAM TIPS Ich danke der Rezension von Barry White für diesen hilfreichen Hinweis! Wer die volle Leistung solcher Kopfhörer genießen will, muss sich Schaumstoffaufsätze besorgen. Ich nutze die Kopfhörer seit fast 2 Monaten und weiß inzwischen, dass das optimale Klangerlebnis und die Wirkung der Geräuschunterdrückung nur bei perfekten Sitz der Kopfhörer im Ohr erzielt werden kann. --- DIE KOPFHÖRER Sitz der Kopfhörer: Ich habe zunächst eine Weile mit den mitgelieferten Silikonaufsätzen experimentiert, um die richtige Größe für mich zu entdecken. Und noch länger hat es gedauert, die richtige Position zu finden (im einen Ohr muss ich den Hörer nach dem Einsetzen deutlich gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen, im anderen nur ein bisschen). Es war mir vorher nicht bewusst, wie unterschiedlich meine beiden Ohren gebaut sind. Durch dieses Rumprobieren wurde mir aber auch klar: Wenn sich denn meine beiden Ohren schon so deutlich voneinander unterscheiden, dann ist es völlig ausgeschlossen, dass In-Ear-Kopfhörer allen Nutzer gleichermaßen passen. Ich muss sie also in jedem Fall irgendwie passend machen. Lösung: Schaumstoffaufsätze, die sich dem Ohr individuell angleichen. (Ich habe bisher die Foam Tips von Inairs ausprobiert, bei mir sind die ok; AIR2 ist übrigens das passende Modell für diese Kopfhörer. Werde aber sicher auch noch andere ausprobieren.) Klangqualität: Über die Klangqualität wurde an vielen Stellen sehr ausführlich geschrieben. Deshalb nur ein kurzes Statement: herausragend. Für mich als reinen Klassik-Hörer liefern diese Geräte das Optimum dessen, was ich von einem kabellosen Kopfhörer für den Musikgenuss unterwegs erwarte. Meine Erwartungen an die Sauberkeit in hohen und tiefen Lagen, differenzierten Mitten, Feinheit und Ausgewogenheit bei ganz leisen und ganz lauten Stellen werden über meine Anforderungen hinaus erfüllt. Bässe: Zu den schon öfters bemängelten Bässen kann ich mich nur als Klassik-Hörer äußern: Ich brauche definitiv nicht mehr Bass, alles ist fein abgestimmt, perfekt für meine Hörerwartungen. Über den in der App regelbaren "Klangmodus" habe ich die "Bassverstärkung" oft, aber nicht immer aktiviert (für Bruckner gerne mit Bassverstärkung, eine angemessen schlank besetzte Haydn-Sinfonie aber ohne). Geräuschunterdrückung: Nur wenn die Kopfhörer komplett abdichten, kommt man in den ganzen Genuss der gelieferten Technik. Ich bin immer noch beeindruckt, was dieses ANC zu leisten vermag. Selbst bei deutlichen Umgebungsgeräuschen höre ich nur - Musik. Das Aktivieren der Umgebungsgeräusche dient ebenfalls dem entspannten Hören: Wenn man nämlich Musik hören möchte, aber zugleich sicherstellen muss, wichtige Umgebungsgeräusche nicht völlig auszublenden. Aber bitte keine falschen Erwartungen: Diese Funktion dient nicht der Verstärkung von Umgebungsgeräuschen (wie es zum Beispiel die Galaxy Buds machen), sondern nur dazu, solche Geräusche "gerade noch" durchzulassen. Bedienung: Die Touchflächen reagieren ausgesprochen gut, weder zu empfindlich noch zu stark verzögert. Angenehm ist auch die Rückmeldung durch das Gerät: Lautstärkeregelung, Stopp oder Skip werden per Tonsignal gemeldet, per Sprachansage wird hingegen die gewählte ANC-Stufe bestätigt sowie die Aktivierung bzw. Trennung der Bluetooth-Verbindung. Telefonie: Klar ist, dass diese Kopfhörer zum Musikhören gemacht sind und für keinerlei Office-Tätigkeiten, denn dafür gibt es geeignetere Geräte. Aber das Annehmen eines Telefonats, während man Musik hört, sollte natürlich möglich sein. Die Gesprächsqualität ist gut, ich kann meine Gesprächspartner sehr gut verstehen und komme (so deren Rückmeldungen) fast genauso an, als ob ich direkt über das Telefon spreche. --- DIE APP --- Mein Update nach Release von Version 2 der App siehe unten --- Was in den meisten Rezensionen nicht so ausführlich besprochen wird, ist die App "Technics Audio Connect". Das ist ok, denn es geht ja um die Qualität der Kopfhörer. Überrascht bin aber, dass die App meist gut bewertet wird, denn ich komme zu einem völlig anderen Ergebnis: Hätte ich diese App vor dem Kauf des Kopfhörers getestet, dann hätte ich ganz sicher von einem Kauf der Kopfhörer Abstand genommen. Professionell geht anders. Auch bei allergrößtem Wohlwollen mag ich einem Hersteller nicht vertrauen, der so etwas herausgibt. Man mache sich bitte bewusst, dass diese App als Zubehör zu einem High-End-Gerät (!) dienen soll. Statt dessen bietet sie eine katastrophale Benutzerführung, ist instabil und billigst gestaltet. Funktionen 1 Koppeln 2 Akkustand der Kopfhörer abfragen 3 Klangeigenschaften ändern (Bassverstärkung oder klare Stimme) 4 Umgebungsgeräusche (Geräuschunterdrückung oder Umgebungsgeräusche) 5 Kopfhörer suchen 6 Grundeinstellungen (Einstellung LED, Auswahl Sprachassistent, Sprachauswahl etc.) Das alles kann die App, soweit ok. Die Umsetzung hingegen ist eine Frechheit. Für die Punkte 2 und 3 wäre es außerdem wünschenswert, wenn entsprechende Widgets bereitgestellt würden (Punkt 4 ist über Touchfläche möglich). Aber zunächst möchte ich nur hoffen, dass die offensichtlich in einer Betaversion veröffentlichte App endlich durch eine funktionale Version ersetzt wird. Benutzerführung Menüführung völlig uneinheitlich und unübersichtlich: Mal ein Return oben links, mal gar nichts. In der linken Hälfte des Haupt-Displays ein überflüssiges Foto der Kopfhörer, rechts 3 Menüpunkte (Punkte 2-4 von oben). Diese Menüpukte sind identisch gestaltet, aber der erste Punkt (Akku) dient nur der Anzeige, die anderen beiden führen auf eine weitere Seite. Intuitiv geht anders. Dialoge und Fehlermelduungen laufen insgesamt über Popups, die man bestätigen muss, um weiterzukommen (über Popups!). Verbindungsassistent Die App verfügt über einen Verbindungsassistenten, der die Kopplung der Kopfhörer erleichtern soll. Dieser Verbindungsassistent ist nicht nur nicht ins Menü eingebunden, er öffnet sich selbsttätig und unmotiviert. Ein Weg vom Verbindungsassistenten ins Hauptmenü ist nicht vorgesehen: Mit Glück passiert es ab und an, aber innerhalb des Assistenten ist das Menü nicht greifbar. Dass bei nahezu jedem Start der App eine sinnfreie und zudem hässliche Animation läuft, merke ich inzwischen gar nicht mehr. Meist hoffe ich nur, dass die App auch wirklich startet und dass der Verbindungsassistent es nicht bemerkt. Denn auch bei bestehender Verbindung zwischen Telefon und Kopfhörer wird man vom Verbindungsassistenten dazu aufgefordert, einen Kopfhörer auszuwählen, "der verbunden werden soll". Einziger Ausweg: App schließen und neu starten und hoffen. Denn wählt man den entsprechenden Kopfhörer aus ("der verbunden werden soll"), teilt der Verbindungsassistent meist mit (natürlich per Popup), dass die Verbindung nicht hergestellt werden könne, während das Telefon schon längst eine erfolgreich hergestellte Verbindung signalisiert. Also App schließen und hoffen. Was diese App hingegen recht gut kann, ist das selbsttätige Schließen, vor allem während des App-Starts. (Genutztes Smartphone: S20+, identisches Verhalten vor und nach Update auf Android 11.) UPDATE 02/2021: Nach den letzten Firmware-Updates läuft die App deutlich stabiler. An meiner Gesamtbewertung der App ändert sich dadurch leider nichts. --- FAZIT Zum Glück habe ich die App nicht vor dem Kauf gesehen. Meine Wahl der Kopfhörer bereue ich nämlich überhaupt nicht und würde sie mir - trotz dieser App - jederzeit wieder holen. Obwohl die App einfach nur ein großes Ärgernis ist, verdienen die Kopfhörer die volle Punktzahl. ========= Update meiner Bewertung der App nach Release von Version 2: Jetzt ist alles gut. Sehr übersichtlich gemacht, intuitiv nutzbar, alles drin. Design stimmt ebenfalls. Schönes Detail: Konfigurierbarkeit der Touchflächen. Danke! Nun passt auch die App zur Qualität der Kopfhörer.

Ljudet är extremt bra i min mening. Mikrofonerna är rätt dåliga, i nivå med de flesta andra Bluetooth-hörlurar jag upplevt. Ljudisoleringen är helt okej, nyare modeller är antagligen bättre på det.

Deze oordoppen leveren een ontzettend fijn en gebalanceerd geluid. De hoge en lage tonen zijn perfect in evenwicht: geen overheersende bass, maar ook geen scherpe highs. Qua geluidsbeleving is het echt genieten. Pasvorm & Gebruik Een klein minpunt is de omvang. Omdat de oordoppen vrij groot uitvallen, bieden ze niet de allerstevigste grip. Ik zou ze daarom afraden voor tijdens het sporten, de kans is groot dat ze bij intensieve bewegingen losraken. Conclusie Zoek je oordoppen voor hardlopen of de sportschool? Kijk dan even verder. Maar zoek je de perfecte set om heerlijk mee in je luie stoel te kruipen en puur te genieten van je favoriete muziek? Dan zijn dit absoluut aanraders!
