My poster had lots of graphics and color and I inadvertently used a piece of tape on the face of the poster at the top. Now, I'm the only one that will notice it since now the poster is matted and framed professionally, but at a certain angle, if you look closely, you can see that piece of tape! Otherwise, all of the rips and cracks in the paper where I had to use tweezers to piece in those spots and use this archival tape, they are perfect! You can hardly see where the blemishes are! Do your work in good lighting since you have to peel the backing from the tape and it is very very thin. Happy with the product. Would it then be washable?** A: This is a thin, transparent tape that can mend tears in book page such that the paper will still be completely flexible and the text can be read through it. I cannot see it holding up to fabric uses, particularly not washing. **Q: Does this have an adhesive?** A: Yes it does. It's a bit tricky. The tape appears to be solid and opaque. But if you peel away what the box calls 'the release paper' you will feel the adhesive on one side of the transparent tape. I found using the box to do this didn't work well. I used my finger nails to peel it apart which takes a few times to get the hang of it. It was visible, but it did the trick. I had to get it over folds and the tape did not hinder the cover from keeping its folds as if the tape wasn’t there. I will say it was initially difficult to separate the tape from the liner, but I developed a trick: cut the tape with a bit of liner left over, this way you don’t have to try and pick the tape from the edge of the liner each time - saved a lot of trouble!
