So short story about why I bought these. I like iced tea during the day. Normally, I fill a glass pint half full with hot (not boiling, but still hot) water and a tea bag. After steeping, I then fill the glass to the top with ice. I did this for a week or two knowing that science was against me and eventually, the differences in temperature would cause the glass to crack, which is exactly what happened! Isn't science awesome? So I began a quest for a pint that could handle the relatively extreme temperature variations in a short time, yet would not yield to the same fate as glass. Plastic had come to mind, but I generally dislike putting hot liquids into plastic. Obviously, any form of glass or ceramic was out. This led me to metal cups. I originally found these at REI in initial searches, then eventually found them here (several dollars cheaper and I didn't have to spend money on shipping or fuel to get to a store). The reviews indicated that these pints were good. And the reviewers are correct! I have enjoyed using these pints thus far! They are durable enough for me to take camping with me, and the four pack allows me to keep two at the office. If one drops, the worst case is a spill, but I will still have a whole cup which cannot be said of glassware. The only downside is that since I do fill it with ice, it's a bit cold (a drink cozy remedied this situation). I'll also note something that was in another review which is that the lip of these cups is not sealed, there is a small opening where small food particles may accumulate. I haven't had problems with this, however I will be hand washing the cups because of this (I've seen food matter accumulate in other cookware if water pools, and really, it's two minutes at the sink and hardly a chore). The benefits provided by these cups far outweighs any of the issues I've noted as I am not terribly affected by them, so I give it 5 stars.

Like most, I'm trying to get away from plastics and other materials that have known health issues. This is my second set of cups I purchased. About a month or so ago I purchased the first set but was unwilling to commit to two sets as I had no idea if I would really like them, and they are quite expensive for a set of four cups. I have to admit, I really enjoy using them and couldn't wash them fast enough with four people using four cups. I received my second set about a week ago and now am happy with eight cups. I can now let the dishwasher take care of that for me while still having more cups to use at the same time. As for their use, my biggest complaint would have to be that they accummulate quite a bit of condensation with cold liquid in them. To that end, any metal will have condensation when filled with a cold liquid. That is the price to pay for a healthier drinking vessel. Given that my biggest concern are my two little kids' health, I will deal with water on our placemats that I have to wipe up. No big deal! For the reviews that complain about the water collecting under the lip, this is true, but it is a rolled lip and the opening in the lip is enough to let all the water out and the soap to get in so that it is clean and doesn't harbor any bacteria. In my opinion the best cleaning method is the dishwasher to make sure that anything under the rolled edge gets not only clean, but sanitized.

I currently own several Klean Kanteen bottles of various sizes (with screw-caps) and have been completely satisfied with those stainless steel products. I love them and I carry one with me almost all the time. Wanting to avoid the use of plastic cups, and the potential hazard of broken glass, I purchased two 4-packs (a total of eight cups) of the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Pint Cups from Amazon.com. The two boxed sets were delivered promptly and arrived in excellent condition. After receiving and opening my order, I used my glass Pyrex measuring cup and verified that the Klean Kanteen stainless steel pint cup did indeed hold 16-fluid ounces, right up to the rim. The size is good for adult hands to hold, but a smaller size for children might be warranted, depending on age and ability of the child. I definitely like the overall shape of the container and the quality of stainless steel. The surface finish on the inside and outside is nicely done. The etched logo, product number, and the noted capacity (in both English and metric units) on the outside bottom is a nice addition that probably won't wear away, and it's good to know the official capacity... information that is usually nonexistent on other drinkware. The gauge of the metal and heft is alright I guess, but I wouldn't mind if it were a tad bit thicker metal with a little heavier feel. However, that's just my personal preference and some people might actually prefer a lighter gauge metal. My primary complaint with this product is that the top edge is a rim, or lip, which is curled outward and downward, not rolled tightly, and therefore not sealed underneath. This outward and downward flare tends to channel liquid unexpectedly along the outside of the container, or around your mouth possibly dribbling down your chin while drinking. So, using a bar napkin or coaster is advisable. Also, when placed inverted in the dish washer for cleaning, since that rim is not completely sealed, the curled lip catches dishwater and does not dry completely. However, if your dishwasher gets really hot in the drying mode, it might solve that problem by thoroughly evaporating the rinse water. Air drying the dishes definitely leaves water trapped inside the lip when the container is upside down, so after cleaning, you should shake any excess water out from inside the rolled rim before returning the pint cup to your storage cabinet or cupboard. Perhaps Klean Kanteen will rectify this design flaw in the future. If they were to make that change, I would bump my appraisal to a full 5-star rating for this particular product.

If you have little ones or kids who might visit your home, these are perfect. Glass is fragile, so most common kid safe or backyard safe cups are plastic, but if you’re trying to limit plastics and ingesting micro plastics, then these sturdy cups allow you to do that. They safe if knocked over. My LO currently use a smaller 4 oz open cup but often wants to drink my (or other adults cup) so I’ve started using these so it’s safe in case he throws it or knocks if out of my hands. Also, you can put it in freezer to really chill the cup before serving cocktails in it! Keeps the drink very icy and fresh and you don’t need as many ice cubes which then melt and dilute the drink.

In my quest to reduce the amount of plastic in our lives, I was delighted to find an unbreakable alternative. We've had ours for about six months now, and they have endured quite a few insults without so much as a scratch or a dent. I was a bit worried after reading a few less than favorable reviews about the design of the lip of the cups (there is a tiny gap beneath the rolled edge of the cups). Perhaps it's just me, but I didn't find it particularly concerning...nothing some warm, soapy water can't fix. If I were seriously concerned that some germs were lurking about, I suppose I'd give them a quick vinegar soak. For that matter, they are made of steel, so I'd imagine one could even boil them, if overtaken by an overwhelming case of germophobia. Barring that, I think I'll just live dangerously and let our immune systems sort it out. I would definitely buy them again, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. They are good quality, without being heavy, and should last a lifetime. Addendum: 2 years later (02/2016) these cups are still like new, despite heavy usage. No rust, dings, etc.

Have had these for about 2 years now, and they are still just like new -- no rust at all, or dents. Perfect choice for kids, since they're unbreakable and won't leech nasty chemicals into drinks. I put on a silicone sippy topper (Boon makes great ones), or you can add a silicone straw topper for older kids to minimize spills. Glad I purchased this brand, and will choose other products from them in the future.

Ich bewerte hier das 4er Edelstahlbecher Set mit 296 ml von Klean Kanteen Die Lieferung kam in einer etwas anderen Verpackung (grün/weiß anstatt öko-braun wie auf der Abbildung). Die Verpackung war durch den Transport beschädigt. Die Becher waren einzeln in Papier gewickelt. Trotzdem hatte ich alle Mühe, die ineinander gesteckten Becher auseinander zu bekommen. Endlich ausgepackt und begutachtet war ich sofort von der Qualität begeistert. Keine Dellen oder Kratzer. Die Innenseite ist elektro- poliert und dadurch sehr glatt und tolle Optik. Auch an der Außenseite ist die Optik top. Der umgekantete Becherrand hat einen recht großen Spalt. Das finde ich gut. So kann das Wasser nach dem Spülen gut ablaufen bzw. trocknen. Wenn der Rand einen kleinen Spalt hätte, wäre es wie eine Röhre und man bekommt das Spülwasser praktisch nicht mehr raus. (Habe ich bei anderen Bechern so erlebt) Daher finde ich es so einfach hygienischer. Ich habe auch 300 ml Becher von Greens Steel. Bei den Greens Steel Bechern ist die Umkanntung am Rand so, dass eigentlich kein Platz für Wasser ist. (Kann ich jetzt schlecht beschreiben, ist eben eher wie Papier um-gekantet und bei den Klean Kanteen eher wie eine Röhre). Wie gesagt, mir erscheint die Konstruktion der Klean Kanteen Becher hygienischer. Die Greens Steel haben auch mehr "Schönheitsfehler" wie z. B. winzige Dellen. Aber das ist jammern auf hohen Niveau. Auch die Greens Steel Becher sind von sehr hoher Qualität. In der Spülmaschine bleibt im Rand allerdings immer Wasser stehen und es muss nachgearbeitet werden. Ansonsten möchte ich noch sagen, dass die Becher geschmacksneutral sind. Ich kann keinen metallischen Geschmack feststellen. Ist halt Edelstahl. Das Trinken muss man etwas "erlernen", sonst sabbert man durch die Konstruktion des Randes etwas. Heiße Getränke erfordern ein Hilfsmittel zur Isolation. Sonst verbrennt man sich die Finger. Ich nutze die Becher gerne auf Wanderungen. Wenn es dann heiße Getränke im Winter gibt, hat man eh Handschuhe an. Das Herstellerlogo wäre für mich an der Becherunterseite völlig ausreichend gewesen. Der Becher macht einen wirklich Stabilen Eindruck und ist sicher etwas für die Ewigkeit. Keine Giftstoffe, wie bei so manchem Plastikbecher und auch sicher besser für die Umwelt. Von mir daher eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

These are great nesting cups. Very durable, lightweight and seem to be made from a very good quality stainless steel. I've used them with all kinds of liquids hot and cold, they don't seem to impart any metallic taste either. If you have the pint lid from Klean Kanteen, they fit as well. I'd also recommend a refleece cozie (or cardboard sleeve) when drinking hot liquids, it does transfer the heat to the outside very quickly. Highly recommended product

Ça faisait un moment que je les chercher. L'inox est de très bonne facture et très bien emballé. Le volume est juste comme il faut (près de 30 cl). Le fabricant mentionne qu'il ne faut utiliser ces verres que pour boire de boissons froides. Je pense qu'avec des liquides chauds on pourrait en effet se brûler les lèvres (j'ai déjà connu ça!) Le prix est élevé mais la rareté le justifie et c'est un investissement pour du long terme. Dommage qu'il ne soit pas vendu au détail.
