Worked great but I ordered the wrong key type and will return. Meanwhile I’m using it for parts. My bad this one pulls down to open my 2011 key has to be cracked in half to open. No crying still worked for me for a little for parts.

Picked this up to replace the worn key fob shell on my 2008 VW .:R32. Overall, it's a good replacement and an easy DIY project that can save some money. The fit and finish are decent, but not OEM quality. The swapped key blade isn't perfectly flush when installed, and the flip-key spring isn't quite as robust as the factory mechanism. One of my shells also had a small cosmetic imperfection, but it's a key fob that's going to get scratched up and used every day anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. If you have the new fob key cut it will sit flush.. My biggest complaint is the immobilizer slot. It's oversized and doesn't hold the immobilizer capsule securely like the OEM shell. It would have been nice if that slot was a snug fit. A couple of important tips for anyone doing this swap: 1. Take apart your old fob over a lined container or tray. The immobilizer capsule is easy to lose or damage if it falls out unexpectedly. 2. Do not forget to transfer the immobilizer capsule to the new shell. If you leave it in the old fob, the car will crank but won't start. Everything else may appear to work normally but you could end up paying for unnecessary diagnostics or reprogramming. 3. Because the immobilizer slot is oversized, I recommend using a small piece of electrical tape or a dab of removable adhesive ("booger glue") to keep the capsule secure. I Wish this kit included a new battery, replacement logo and a longer screwdriver with a larger handle. Overall, despite a few quality shortcomings, this is a solid replacement shell that gets the job done. Easy install, significant cost savings, and I'd buy it again. Dont let 4/5 stars scare you. Atleast for me it's a excellent buy.

The metal loop on my fobs broke off years ago, so I wanted to replace that part only. Unfortunately, the key part of my 2008 Beetle fob does not fit with the loop part of this case. I am not willing to replace the whole shell out of fear of breaking the chip. I’m super bummed. The quality seems nice.

Worked great for my mk4 Jetta key and spare. My mk4 Jetta keys were old and needed a refresh. I was able to transfer the immobilizer and the key and get it to flip open perfect. Also it looks brand new!

I purchased these for my 2002 Volkswagen Passat 1.8t GLS wagon key replacement. I did not get the VW stickers. The top and bottom are not interchangeable with the factory key fobs. You have to use the entire new key fob. You can remove the factory metal key blade and put it on the new fob casing without having the remove the tiny pin. The new fob fit the factory circuit board without modifications other than melting the plastic over the board holes to secure the board just like the factory one did. The issues come with the glass transmitter and the key blade. The key blade does need some trimming on the sides to allow it to flick open without getting snagged. The glass transmitter does not have a proper spot in the new key fob. You have to use an exacto or solder tip or something to carve out a proper spot for the glass transmitter. I was able to change both of my keys to this new casing and I am happy with the final product after using it but i am not sure people will be able to do the modification that is needed to fit the glass transmitter. If you are ok with modding this, then it is good to go. The buttons on the fobs both have an audible click which is very nice. Uses the same battery as the old fobs.

I have a 2004 R32 and the case was perfect, i kept my original key i just used the buttons part.
