CRKT M21-14SFG Outdoor Folding Knife with Liner Lock, Black, M21-14SFG

I have owned many different spring assisted and non-assisted pocket knives for daily carry over the last five years. This is the best one I have had yet! Had many $15-$30 knives with cool designs and were spring assisted, but this Knife is the real deal. Has a nice weight in your hand and will definitely fill your hand. It is a bigger knife than you might think. It almost reaches from the base of my palm to the ends of my fingers on my hand. It operates smoothly and just feels like a high quality knife all around when manipulating it. Opening it is fast and solid. The safety lock is cool, because unlike cheaper tactical knifes, you know for sure that blade is locked and ready for action without any chance of the blade closing while in use. The safety button itself seemed well oiled and smooth to quickly disengage the lock with ease. When you shut the blade, there is an audible lock which is very nice. The overall weight and of this knife is fantastic. feels like a very balanced solid knife that you can depend on no matter what the situation is. The blade is sharp out the box (maybe pros might want to sharpen a little more) and the serrated part of the blade feels like it could skin an animal! I mean you need to be really careful! (as you should be because this is a weapon/tool) That section of the blade in general seems extremely sharp and I'm excited to put it to the test the next time I need to cut something thicker! The rest of the blade is a nice thick size and seems like it could take on a lot. Overall this knife is comfortable to hold, feels solid and rugged, and operates the way it should. If you are like me and don't want to spend over $45 on a knife, think again. This thing is definitely worth the small investment! As is any weapon or tool, you want quality and functionality. This knife has both and with a sleek design that is comfortable to hold and nice to look at!!!

Hefty. It has a good weight to it. The blade is sharp enough out of the box. Could be sharper. A nice knife for the price. If you're looking for an edc pocket knife that is on the larger side capable of taking abuse and still being functional. I would recommend this. The flipper action should smooth out over time as it is a little tight.

I bought this knife years ago, this was the first knife I EVER had that cost more than $20 and the first full size folder I ever had. I ended up buying a second M21-14SFG after I received the first. I EDCd (EveryDay Carried) these two knives for about FIVE YEARS! In all those years I NEVER had any problems at all. This is simply an amazing knife. I only got rid of them because my job required me to only carry small knives. Now, five years later, Im more into higher end knives, from a price range of about $100-$250 per knife. After all the knives Ive had recently, and my entire life, the M21-14SFG is still one of my favorites. I especially loved the veff serrations, they are the BEST and most practical serrations Ive ever used. This knife is very tough, easy to maintain, and a perfect EDC. For as big as this knife is, its really light and very slim, which makes it amazing for all day carry. Its nice to have a knife that you dont even notice is in your pocket and can handle everything from normal cutting tasks, hunting/camping related work, and is big and tough enough for a self defence role. I buy my knives as tools, but I always keep in mind that if the day ever came where I had no weapon and my life, or the lives of my family, were being threatened my knife could be the only weapon I have on me... and I would want it to be a knife I can rely on to perform no matter what the circumstances are. As a knife lover and knowing alot about knives and having experience with a few knives... I would highly recommend this knife to anyone for any role. Ive had knives that cost more than double, even triple, of what the M21 is priced at... but the M21 has still remained one of my favorites. If you are looking for a great knife that you can rely on to perform multiple roles but you dont want to pay $100+, I would highly recommend the CRKT M21-14SFG. With this knife you get the performance of a $100-$150 knife, for a fraction of the cost.

I decided to wait six months before reviewing. The M21-14SFG is a suburb knife, and my EDC. I chose this particular blade because it came highly recommended from a desert survivalist friend of mine. The handle of the M21 has a lot of grip. It's almost like tiny scales, and it took some getting used to as most knives I've used have had smooth handles. The crossguards below the blade are great for rigorous knife use, keeping your hand from slipping up onto the blade when piercing. The knife opens very quickly using the crossguard, but not so much with the little knob on the side of the blade (which is also made of the grippy scale material). Using a small alan wrench, the belt clip can be removed and placed in four different places on the handle. The double locking safety is great and any knife without one is now personally much less trustworthy in operation. The 14SFG will cut through a sheet of printing paper - straight out of the box. I have not needed to sharpen it yet. The veff serrations are perfect for cutting rope and twine and are very sharp.. HOWEVER!! I was chopping at some thorny brambles this winter, (the purple ones rabbits hide in), and they broke off every serration's tip, which is shown in the photographs. One of my favorite things about this is that when you close the knife, the blade does not rest on anything; it is stopped by the knob on the side of the blade. Overall, this truly is a five star trustworthy knife, and I love carrying it.

It arrived a day before the tracker predicted. This is a very substantial knife. Big, hefty, and beefy are words that come to mind. Opened, it fits the hand very well, and has a confident feel. Out-of-the-box, it's very sharp, and easily passed the paper/cardboard test. I sliced up a hard plastic blister pack with it, and it did quite well. The Veff serrations tend to get stuck on plastic though, unless you attack with brute force. The opening action is a bit sluggish compared to my M16 Desert Dog (basically the same knife) but it closes a lot smoother (my Desert model has a "hitch" in it). The lock-open mechanism is rock solid. This knife will never-ever close on you by accident. Once it's open, it's essentially a fixed blade knife. In fact, all this lockup security can have its disadvantages. It may take some practice to close. There are instructions provided for doing so, and they seem to suggest that only one hand is required. But -- Even some reviewers say these knives can be closed with one hand, but I don't see how. Pulling back on the release lever with my thumb, and pulling the bottom flipper with my forefinger, leaves me no way to release the liner lock, unless I use my other hand. Not that I mind - I'd rather use two hands to close, than to open! My only beef with CRKT's is sharp edges on the flippers. They're deburred, but not edge-broken, and with aggressive use, will score the web of your hand and your index finger in no time if you're not wearing gloves (and after awhile, will wear through the gloves). Even just idle repeated opening will wear on your finger quite a bit. The entire blade/tang should be rag-wheeled or stone-tumbled before plating and edge-grinding. My Benchmade knives are a prime example of this simple practice. It adds minimal cost to the process, and greatly improves quality. Although I would have preferred a smooth-edged blade, the Veff serrations are certainly impressive in appearance. The aggressive rearward angle is actually scary looking, and made me want to prove their worth. However, I quickly learned that appearances can be deceiving. The serrations, (likely because they're so substantial) tend to be a hindrance rather than an asset when cutting hard objects that yield - like a plastic 2-liter soda bottle. Unless you go at it like an animal, with no regard for safety, the serrations tend to grab and catch, stopping the cut like a saw in wet wood. But if you're cutting cardboard, or need to cut a seatbelt, it will fly through those like a champ. It has it's preferred applications, and this shouldn't deter anyone from buying it. The pocket clip is extremely stiff and tight, and might have you looking for a tactical pistol magazine pouch at Walmart (Blackhawk). I down-rated it to 4 stars because of the sharp-edged flippers. Other than that, it's an impressive knife, and it would make a very good utility tool around the house or campsite. Recommended. 4 stars. .

Have owned two of these knives since 2020. They are my EDC knives. They very well built and tough. They come sharp out of the box. They have two locking mechanisms to make sure the blade will stay deployed safely. Very easy to use flipping the knife open, like the one handed opening and deployed. Big fan of the serrated blade for tearing through thick stuff fast. Never have had any issues with the knives and they have taken a lot of abuse. They are also very attractive looking knives. I like the knives so much, I have gifted them to several friends. They make a great gift.

I have the spyderco byrd, endura and police models and have carried each one as an edc. The police was my favorite until I found this knife. It has more heft and takes up more space but is worth it IMO. It is easier to draw and deploy more quickly than the spydercos. The hilt design makes it about as fast and easy to flip open with one hand as an assisted-opening spring. More total blade area than the spydercos. I would much rather have this larger blade for pretty much any situation. The knife is well-made, sturdy and I like the weight and the size of the handle because I have relatively large hands and it's more comfortable and ergo-dynamic for me than smaller handles and has a nice feel in the hand. I also like the hilt feature and think that in a self-defense situation, it is a great plus to know that your hand is not going to slip off the handle. Another great feature is the safety mechanism in addition to the linerlock. I have had some cheaper knives with linerlocks and had one even fail on me. The extra safety feature is great peace of mind. I have seen some reviews complain that it takes two hands to close the knife with the safety. That is nonsense. After just a few times practicing to get used to the action of closing it with one hand, it's very easy and quick to close the knife with only one hand. Anyway, I don't really care about closing it quickly. It is the opening quickly that matters.

I'm 20 years of age and have been collecting knives for quite a few years now. As a First Responder in my community, having a strong, durable knife is important and this one does not disappoint. The M21 is definitely a bigger knife than you might be expecting, much larger than your standard EDC knives, giving it a bit heavier of a feel. I agree with many of previous reviews in it being a bit heavy, but the smooth, swift opening mechanism, Auto-LAWKS feature preventing it from collasping during use, and the virtually indestructible material and construction design make up for any possible con you can produce. The most impressive feature of this knife is the serrated blade, which is perfect for any every-day activities (I use one knife for everything including cutting bread for dinner!) to more intense actions like cutting cords or ripping apart wood for starting a fire. All in all, this knife will give you whatever you need and never fails. The teflon-bearings promote smooth opening and the blade will stay sharp forever. If you are looking for a large knife meant more for tactical support than utility, I highly recommend this knife. Otherwise, if you are looking for a strong, EDC, downgrade to the M16-14SFG which is a slightly shorter knife (about 3.5 inches) and not as thick; it won't be nearly as heavy and won't be as intimidating in public (less likely to arouse any suspicion in a public situation). Otherwise, the M16-10EDC is just as useful, but a shorter blade as well. All in all, Columbia River is the best company for manufacturing knives I've ever seen; the quality, creativity, and overall performance of these blades cannot be matched. Futhermore, Amazon's prices on these products are, on average, 40-60 dollars LESS than what you will pay the company directly. Bottom line, check out Columbia River's website to find the blade you want, then search for it here. I promise you will not be disappointed; if you are, talk with Columbia River; they will make it right.

Das Messer ist einfach klasse. Nach kurzem schärfen war es einwandfrei frei. Der Griff ist auch rutsch fest. Nur zu empfehlen.

Da ich ein Fan von guten Messern bin und immer gerne offen für neues dachte du mir ich probiere mal das M21-14sfg. Öffnungsmechanissmus sehr gut. Schließen des Messers etwas Übung aber trotzdem Super. Die Klinge werde ich wohl etwas schleifen müssen ist aber trotzdem schon scharf genug für die meisten Sachen. Fazit werde Strike Back liebt der liebt das Messer

I like the knife well enough, it fits my hand comfortably. The opening is smooth and feels good and the lock is sturdy. The liner is additionally secured by a small pin. Not really needed but it gives more safety. However, the blade has pretty bad edge retention. After only a couple of weeks I had to sharpen the edge as it was getting blunt. Out of the box the sharpness was good, but nothing special.

eigentlich gut ABER: das gelieferte messer entspricht nicht dem abgebildeten messer: der griff war ohne perforation und der sägezahn ist völlig anders ausgeprägt. früher lief so etwas unter betrugsversuch. messer umgehend an den lieferanten zurückgesandt.
