With the admitted bias of a Colorado native, I continue to believe that my state is pretty great. Erin Barnes' book does my state justice and then some. Running the gamut from the notoriously familiar to secrets typically reserved for savvy locals, this book is an absolute necessity for natives, transplants and tourists alike. Aside from the excellent writing and brilliantly threaded humor, there is the promise of discovery. Even the most seasoned Colorado explorers are sure to learn a few new tricks, and the read is an adventure in and of itself. You will simply never have more fun doing some research. I cannot recommend this book enough and it's sure to be a staple as I brainstorm gifts for years to come. Pick up the book, get your dog, head to your favorite brewery, and you'll be out-Coloradoing Coloradoans in no time.

So many cool places and fun facts about each place. I want to visit the Black Monarch hotel and Bishops Castle. Best part is how there are specific ways to find the perfect spot to explore whether its by season, region, food, hikes etc. Colorado has so many spots to put in all one book but I truly believe this book highlights some great ones.

We've lived in Colorado for more than a decade and been to lots of great places here, but this book really explored some awesome locales! A few we already knew about, but visitors to the state might not and it was great to see things like restaurants and bars recommended in towns we had been in before. The book was today worth it.

This book makes no sense. The chapters are numbered and the map is numbered, but the numbers do not remotely match up. If I read about a place I want to see even close to what part of Colorado it is located the corresponding number on the map is no where close. It is a different place. A good editor should have caught this mistake. If I have to google each place I do not need the book,I can just read about it online. It is frustrating.
