Cools one person effectively.
The AC works nicely. I added water, turned it on, set the mister and the swivel. All was easy. I sat on the porch and read a book as it blew cool air and a cool mist. It was very comfortable. It charges easily and stays charged for a long period of time even when it is swiveling. I have not been able to find how it drains; it just says that you can do it. I haven't had to drain it as yet and am hoping I don't have to take it apart to clean it for a long time.

Don’t buy
Edit 2022: After a few weeks the temps rose and this became useless. It was pretty much just blowing hot mist in your face and the fan was not strong enough. So you just feel like you’re outside on a humid day in Washington DC. I eventually did end up buying a portable AC unit. I put this in storage and just brought it out again hoping it would somehow redeem itself. I plugged it in but it will not work.2020: Feels amazing! So cold! Just what I needed to beat the heat! I am from a foggy gloomy place and moved to a warmer area that gets to the 80s-90s which is not bad comparedu to other places, I know. But I get so uncomfortably hot when it gets warm. I’m just not used to it. It’s been two months and I’m still hot. This helps so much! The best way to use it is when you’re working or eating at a table and it directed right at you.The water becomes a mist and as it sticks to your skin it gets fanned at the same time. This makes the moisture on the skin evaporate and take some of its heat with it giving you a cool sensation. Science, ya’ll!I love it and I don’t need to buy a $300+ unit!

Keeps you cool, but hard to fully clean the insides.
The media could not be loaded. 2022 update: It was starting to do this last year but never pay attention to it since I was rarely home when I would really need something like that... Bought a house and adopted a dog. Its now summer time, so I puled this our of my storage in hopes that it would work just like how it was when I got it. Filled it with water, and it starts beeping like crazy cycling thru the options, turning itself off and back on. If I leave it alone for awhile it stops at a random setting that I have to live with. Was hoping to use it to help keep my dog cool since he is panting like crazy and I don't feel like spending nearly $2 an hour for AC for the bottom part of the house. I still live in the desert so these mini or portable evaporated coolers are one of the cheaper ways to keep cool.PS Somehow its kept its charge nearly 8+ months later after I charged it up.I really like this mini ac cooler, aka swamp cooler. I liked how it looked and this one seemed to be the cheaper of this model on Amazon and could hold a lot of water. I was skeptical that something like this would keep me cool during 100f plus degree weather with no ac running. I currently moved to the desert, and trying to find ways to keep cool with out spending $250 in electricity each month. My husband has stolen this from me while he is working remote upstairs in one of the bedrooms that gets hot quickly. Not sure if this device will save us money on electricity but it kept us cool on the weekends while down stairs watching TV and in our bedroom at nigh with no AC running. Or at least it helps with the dryness in the air.I got used to the small noise it makes, I like knowing its on. I do love the fact I can charge up its battery while using it. I do like there are instructions written on the side of the device, because lets face it, who most likely never looked at the booklet that came with it. Came in handy when I cleaned out the machine about an hour ago and couldn't figure for the life of me where I put its manual. My husband and I have been using this for nearly 2.5 weeks now and it started to smell weird, like old wet socks. So I took it apart to clean it. Its a bit hard to clean the part where the water sits to be used in the fan. I tiredto take a picture of what I saw. I sticked the screwdriver that I used to open it inside and move around a paper towel, in the process I cut part of my finger. So it being difficult to clean made me feel like it lost a star.As there are many different type of models for this type of device these are my tips.Tips:Don't have it pointed at you at all times unless you want your clothing to be soaked wet.Use the setting number three to have the water last a lot longer, it felt like it lasted a good 6 hour, I had pour water into it before bed and it still had a good amount of water in it when I woke up. Number one used the 700 millimeters of water nearly about one hour, this could be from how dried my apartment is.I have used this while on my treadmill, keep a towel near by.While its charging dont have the rotating function on, your type c cable might fall out.If your rotating button doesn't seem to work, add water or make sure its fully charged. Mine didn't work at 1st and hubby was surprised when I showed him it could rotate.Don't use essential oils or it might make your device smell bad, not sure if this is the cause of why it smelled like wet socks, but cleaning it out so far seems to have done the trick. (I tried vinegar and that didn't help at all)I guess there are some of these portable acs that can handle it, sadly mine seems to not be able to handle it, or it could be the quailty of oils I used.Do not think this will cool down a room, its ment for the personal area to keep cool, not the farest corners of the room you are in that you don't use.I submitted a video after I did a cleanup to the Cooler showing what it did without the little fins blocking it. I found it interesting.

Cool but wet
This item is small and performs well, however, The user must follow the simple instructions and not overfill with water. No more than a cup then add ice. Only problem is that it raises the humidity in a tiny space like a small camper or cubicle

Nifty little device
The portable AC works as described. I like that it actually does cool off the temperature nearby the device as it runs. My only complaint would be the amount of condensation that it emits projecting out from the device, but that is not a design flaw as much as simple science. The cool moisture provides cool air out of the fan, so as long as you put something to absorb the moisture coming out, it works very well. It has three fan speed settings, two oscillating settings, and three levels of evaporated moisture (the part that cools) or regular fan.

Sub-Par Performance
I bought this with the intention to cool my tent while camping in the summertime. I took it camping this weekend in Oklahoma and I wasn't impressed with it's cooling abilities. I didn't anticipate a battery operated AC to have a drastic impact on the temperature of the tent, but I did expect it to cool the tent to a temperature that would allow me to fall asleep. Unfortunately, this device did not meet these standards. I had it elevated about 3 ft in the air above my sleeping bag, and the mist that it produces ended up soaking my pillow and sleeping bag. I thought this device would have produced a stronger "breeze" of cold air. I was sitting here trying to think about what else I could use this for, and I can't think of a single instance where this would be beneficial to have. You can set it on the lowest temp setting to avoid it blowing this "mist" of water all over your belongings, but if you are using this unit as it's intended (to cool the air), this setting most likely will not produce the results you are seeking. The battery also died after running it on the coolest temp setting the first night of camping (about 6 hours of use).

Not worth the money
I had my daughter visiting from Oregon and she needed a bit of extra AC. I thought this would be perfect?? Not at all. It’s charging capacity is very weak turns off after a few hrs. ( if you’re lucky) the water also doesn’t last very long . I wish I’d tested it before she came , I would have returned it !
