i have one of these but it will not recognize the SSD drives. does anyone else have this problem?

Are you sure this adapter's connector is a sata iii interface? the product description only says "supports ... sata and sata ii hard drives"

The product title presented today, 1/12/2018, states: Optimized For SSD, Support UASP SATA III (EC-SS31) My GUESS is that the specs listed below are for additional compatibility, but it is a bit unclear.

It uses a pretty standard massive storage controller so I would say yes. Haven't tested it personally though
