I hooked it up to an industrial time delay relay so that it cycles on and off so that it sounds exactly like a real air raid siren. Far superior to the crappy "warble car alarm air horn" that most people use on an alarm. I screwed it with #12 wood screws right up under the eves so it's protected from the rain yet nothing muffles the sound. I kept the old horn in service just in case there's a power failure. Cons: Suffers from "Chinese power syndrome" Meaning that the power cord is garbage the first thing you need to do is replace it. Here in the USA when we have a 120v metal appliance with motors inside of it we like to ground it. That way if spinning things disintegrate inside of the case and the internal destruction causes a hot lead to contact the case, you don't have some poor guy sent to rectify the situation get electrocuted. We like our ground wires in the cord, not separate. Also as a matter of principle we like to enclose electric wire junctions. The case has junctions in it in the bottom and there really should be a cover plate there. If you want a very loud horn then buy this or it's big brother. None of these things is an obstacle to any electrician that does commercial work or someone with good DIY skills. And this is one of the few models out there that is measurably louder. Is it ready to plug into a Extenstion cord or do I have to wire it myself?** A: When I got it it just had exposed wires and you have to add a plug or direct wire it. We got this siren to blast out our neighbors and we rigged up on a board with a switch that we plugged in with an extension. In the end it wasn’t loud enough to overcome our neighbors music and we are moving out at the end of this month. **Q: Is there a link somewhere to hear this unit run?** A: Not that I know of but it is pretty loud. **Q: Hi does this work in cb pa system ? my current speaker uses standard mic plug in jack thanks** A: This is simply a siren.
