Works as it should

These are super-easy to fix a chain and should be kept on a bike, just in case. I find that mountain bike chains, because they need to flex over a wide rear cassette, are less robust. In addition, they take more sudden torque than a road bike or gravel bike, so they break. These spares are easy to carry and a quick fix when you're miles out in the middle of nowhere.

Perfect replacement Shimano 12 speed XT chain quick links. A little on the expensive side but they are worth it

Other 12 speed chains are about .2mm thicker, so this link does not work on KMC or SRAM 12 speed chains. If you force it, then it will eventually snap in, but the link will not operate properly due to friction between the plates.

This is a genuine Shimano 12 speed "Quick Link". The link's printed side must be facing out and the arrow must match the direct of the chain's forward rotation; necessary for smooth shifting on these increasingly narrow chain lines.

The package arrived much quicker than I had expected. Of course the contents were perfect as one would expect from a Shimano product.

If you're buying quick links for chain waxing and don't want to go silly on a wipperman one then KMC or this Shimano model are your best bet. It's important not to skimp on quality in this area of you drivetrain
