Good Non Fiction Book on Virus Related Changes to Life Kids Face
There's quite a number of fictional stories with characters suddenly having to stay at home during a virus outbreak out there cashing in on the Corona Virus outbreak. This one isn't a story, it's a character (yellow dot) talking to human kids about what is going on, what they need to do, and importantly why they need to do it. So a basic non fiction book. The reading level is higher than most of these other spot books by Diane Alber. There's some big words occasionally used but they are probably ones that they are hearing used all the time on TV and elsewhere. I think this is the best of the non fiction books dealing with virus, self isolating and social distancing.A Little Spot Stays Home has been formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally), where it takes up the entire screen. Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book open to two pages (or sometimes one long one). A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it.

Perfect book for young children during Covid
I've seen lots of books about viruses pop up lately. In my opinion, this one is definitely the best. As always, Diane's illustrations are wonderful... but the way she explains the subject matter really hit home for me.I highly recommend this book for children 4-7 or 8. (My kids are 5 and 7 and it was perfect for them.)It's clear this situation will be going on for some time... I believe this book will help young children better understand the world around them during Covid. Two thumbs up.

How to explain life to kids
My daughter (4yrs) was just asking me for a book about the corona virus, and then I saw this one. We already have I'm Not Just a Scribble so my daughter knew these characters. There was lots of explanation and discussion starters in the book. She was a little young to sit through the whole thing but it has given her a basis for why she has to stay home and I think that makes her feel better.

Timely!
An engaging book that describes our current situation (April, 2020) The language is a bit adult and probably needs more interpretation from adults but it covers all of the key points like what is a virus, wash your hands, essential workers, and how to be happy staying home. As always, the illustrations are darling!

Great book to explain the Coronavirus to children and why staying home is important. Great suggestions for at home activities.

So disappointed in this author
I'm really disappointed in this author, that (sadly) I saw as someone to aspire to be like. Every author hopes to make money with their books, of course. But taking advantage of our current situation by coming up with a book such as this one as quickly as possible is just sad and wrong. It says a lot about this author. And what I first believed to be a wonderful Facebook group created to support aspiring children's book authors turns out to just be her personal promotional page, where she advertises her books, which then are being reviewed not by regular buying customers, but hundreds of fellow children's book authors. Many authors have a fan group or fan page, but unlike Diane's, these are clearly marked as such. This author's private group is marked as a place that provides advice on the publishing process, but turns out to be her private review club.

This book is wonderful for explaining what the world is experiencing to young children. Everyone with children should have this book.

Perfect!
This book hits on everything we're experiencing right now but in a safe, child-friendly discussion. I am very excited for my students to engage with this content! Your read-alouds on YouTube are phenomenal!

Educational Children's Book about Understanding Viruses and the Importance of Safe Distancing!
Diane Alber's Children's Book titled "A Little Spot Stays Home: A Story About Viruses and Safe Distancing," is a very Educational story for Young Children. Throughout the story, the main character named Safety Spot educates Children about Viruses and why people need to keep a Safe Distance and Stay At Home (during an Outbreak or Pandemic). Safety Spot also lists the many ways that Children can Learn and have FUN while Staying at Home. I look forward to reading this Children's Book to my Junior and Kindergarten students.
